Creative Every Day Check-In: August 22 – 28

August 22nd, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 8/22/11 - 8/28/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for August is Red, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

I thought I left a link…..Mr. Linky where are you? Blogged about rules today: http://gina-hereandnow.blogspot.com/2011/08/august-break-13-making-and-breaking.html

Happy creating! Gina

I made over a pair of flip flops for my son. Nothing fancy, just a fun redo, to experiment with my creativity.

summer has been way too busy for me and I really am looking forward to fall to get busy creatively again

Let’s hope red is the cure for sadness (and worry!) on this first day of school!

I’ve discovered a great source of inspiration this week, reminding me it’s always good to dig a little deeper and see what you find.

Altered journals and totes seem to be my gifts of choice these days — made a couple more for a friend who had a birthday this summer — and plan to make one for our sponsored Compassion child, whom we get to MEET next week!!!!! So nervous — but excited, too!

I’ve been reminded lately of how unexpected life can be and how it is impossible to predict but just keep living through the moment. On my blog I’ve talked about how this can apply to our creative work too.

And on my blog is a chance to win some art & craft materials in my first ever giveaway. Please do visit :-)

Wishing you all a happy & creative week!

Kat Xx

I never really use red, but I got out of my comfort zone and created this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/betherann/6070591925/

I like how it turned out, and I’m proud of myself for trying!

This focus on {red} has proved to inspire a color-theme for boldness and intention for me! :D

I am seeing red possibilities every where! lol!

I posted another painting to my blog this week. Hoping to upload more photos this week as well. So much to do! Art has taken over my life! Yay!

Both my blogs are posted on regularly if not every day ~ then close to it ~ Tomorrow ~ have Ruby Tuesday so it is RED ~ photos mainly ~ Hope you are doing well ~ thanks for hosting this great site! namaste, Carol ^_^

A little red in the dahlia flower, fairies abound!

Was able to get in another plein air session last week – with the company of a young artist no less. This week I shall finish the painting I started which has many bits of soft orange red and a subtle mauve coming through the mist. My first post from the Saturna Island trip went up this morning so you can get a hint of what is to follow. Best of the week everyone!

Happy to sign up, and so happy to start with red!

I just changed a painting from orange to red…

I participated in a “Liberate Your Art” postcard swap this summer. It was so much fun. Stop by to see the beautiful postcards I received!!
