Creative Every Day Check-In: August 8 – 14

August 8th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 8/8//11 - 8/14/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for August is Red, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

This week’s post is about finding new ways of dealing with change, one breath at a time.

I’ve nearly completed a mixed media tree painting in ‘Red’!

Wishing you all a happy & creative week!

Back from vacation – time to get back into a creative routine!

My first week participating – I love the idea of finding creativity in lots of arenas, not necessarily “traditional” art. I dabble in photography, collage, watercolor painting, gardening, and lots of other creative pursuits. I can’t wait to see what all these other creative types are up to. Thanks for hosting this community!

Hi Leah :) it’s my first month on your blog, what an amazing idea! I’ve linked you to my ‘Inspiration’ list. have a great month of August.

I write notes to myself. I jot down keywords and quotations on random pages of my planner and art journals. These notations serve as anchors when I feel adrift; they are {red} for me.

Interestingly enough, my art journaling has included {red} dominance for the past week … ♥

Well! I have been working along taking my blog apart into sections or pages. If I could think of a better thing to call them all, the organization might feel better to me! I wrote a poem entitled The Color Red, that can be found on Purple Profundity Poetry(link to page on Elisa’s Spot link above.) I’m still working on getting all of my poetry and photography onto the appropriate ‘page’ or sub set of Elisa’s Spot. The image for Purple Shoe Photography for today is/was The Outlaw. I love that old red barn in the background of the image.
Today’s poetry on Purple Profundity is Blue Eyes.

Well I have a completely new website/blog/gallery/shop all rolled into one stunning package done by my talented friend Angel! Been really tied up with that but starting to get to grips with it, and painting like a crazed maniac at night. So it’s all good here. I’d love it if you would have a look at my new blog/website :) x

Woo-hoo! Painted with red in my new painting entitled Compasses!
Check it on on my blog post at http://www.marycnasser.com/2/post/2011/08/new-work-wednesday-compasses.html

Loving being part of this challenge!
♥ Mary

There is a little red in my post…and a little story. I’m having a great time coming up with little stories to go along with illustrations.
I seem to have a thing for men in red shirts :)

I wrote about a choice I must make every day.

I haven’t had much time to create lately. So I started a photo project that doesn’t take a lot of time and keeps my creativity running.
