Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 14

Day 14 of Art Every Day Month! Wow! We're two weeks in. How are you feeling? I hope the creative energy is flowing for you.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. (If you're receiving this post via email, you'll have to click through the blog to see the widget.) If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2011 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2011 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

For some reason my link in #5 didn’t work right so I re-linked as #6. If there is someway to delete #5 that would be awesome! Tank you again forsaking me attempt to be creative every day! Right now I am not totally making anything, but I am learning new things that I have wanted to learn and trying new recipes. Thanks again!

Leah, thank you so much for allowing us this opportunity to share our creative journeys. It has been very inspiring for me. I seem to be thriving with the discipline, and am making wonderful new friends!

thanks for the link up!

I can’t believe that we are half way through the month already! My post for today includes some playing around with found objects and photography.

Two weeks in and I’m feeling great. I’m really pleased with a lot of the paintings I’ve made so far; can’t wait to see what the rest of the month brings!

Today I’ve got a juicy pomegranate painting to share with you all.

Celebrating 300 posts with a give away.

This week’s post is about honouring those important people who lead us from one phase of life to the next; from this life to the next. In memory of Jenna Morrison.

This week I’m focusing on small canvas projects. The picture of my AEDM work is at the end of my regular post.

Such fun seeing everyone’s creative work! Today – some old friends..and old trees!

After a busy day, I’m running a little behind in catching up with blogs, sorry. I do love to see what everyone has been up to so I will try to get caught up tomorrow. There is so much creativity in this wonderful group and I’m enjoying meeting you all ~ :)

Awe was definitely part of the creative process today. Come over and see my sunset progression in over 20 miles along I-55.

My drawing for today is still drying so will post it later. I posted the last 2 days a bit late but had fun.Giraffes!!
Everyones work is wonderful and so varied – wow.

Happy Monday!!

Another portrait in my Sketbook completed !

I hand lettered/doodled an interview with another AEDM artist: Connie of Dirty Footprints Studio!

Today I finished the 12 X 12 painting/collage I have been working on for the last few days. I am exploring the use of oil pastels, a first for me.

Two weeks in and it’s awesome! Something every day. Priority! Streeeeeeeeeeetcchhhhhhh. Love it as always. thank YOU as always! I SO look forward to Novembers now!

Though Ive been creating, I haven’t posted everything I’m working on. I did today – and shared a creative struggle with this piece. When I added my link below, the following Joseph Campbell quote came up:

“The creative act is not hanging on, but yielding to a new creative movement. Awe is what moves us forward.”

How perfect!!!

I took the weekend off from AEDM to try and recharge my energy level. It didn’t really work. I’m still exhausted..something I’ve been struggling with for a couple months now. It’s fall, and I want to hibernate.

This week’s been so much fun, despite a busy week at work. It inspired me to spend an entire evening in a hotel room being creative rather than just watching telly. I’m looking forward to the next two week, it’s so inspiring!

Hello everyone. I have been managing so many things between work and supporting my mother as she helps my Dad manage his Parkinson’s, that I have found little time to be creative this month. HOwever, I did do two things. I took a class in making a crow out of fabric. I will definitely show that when I finish it. I also – out of frustration – created an autumnal mood board for my kitchen. It was the one creative thing I could do that was quick and satisfying. Please take a look!

This has been the most liberated time of “art every day” … I have been writing each morning, followed by art journaling. Within my day, I post at least one photo to Instagram to capture a moment creatively and to allow myself that art-full pause.

Art has become such a natural part of my daily life now. That is a stark contrast to my first AEDM … Years have past and baby steps carried me here. It is wonderful! :D

There are so many great testimonials! It is inspiring to read the many stories of AEDM. ♥

I really like doing the doodling again. For the next couple of weeks I’m hoping to be able to spend a little more time trying some new things for the sketchbook.

Mixed day for me…my son left after being here for a 10 day visit (during which my entire normal daily all-about-me routine was HAPPILY absent!,) but even though I had the whole day to myself again, I was just too sad from missing him to do much. I did take a workshop this weekend which has me SOOOOO excited, so that was the good side of my blog post for today! Happy creating everyone!

Woohoo! I am on time today:)) I made another attempt at an abstract (number 5 or 6?)painting and I love the process so much. Its so meditative and stress-free, interestingly enough:)Hope everyone is having a good challenge. I love what I have been seeing!

Woo Hoo! I’m #100 today! It’s some of my art in review.

What’s nice about AEDM is you commit yourself to do something every day….

Day 14, still not feeling well today.

I wish there were more hours in the day to view all of these wonderful blogs! I try to visit a few every day. Hope everyone is enjoying AEDM as much as I am!

I love Art Every Day Month!

Loving AEDM…sad it’s already almost half over!!

I’m a bit behind but finally catching up! :D
