Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 4

November 4th, 2011

It's day four of Art Every Day Month! You're doing great! Really. Whatever you've done thus far is enough. What you haven't done, let it go. Go forth and create!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. (If you're receiving this post via email, you'll have to click through the blog to see the widget.) If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: instead of my main blog page: This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2011 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2011 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

Art and artists are driven by passion and the emotional ride can veer off to anger and/or depression. We should not forget to enjoy the experience of daily creativity, whatever that may entail. ~Diane Carter

My first title for today’s piece was “culture of survival”, but then “cultural survival” seemed more fitting. Happy AEDM everyone!
Stay inspired!

Thank you for the :) i’m taking this opportunity to challenge myself!

Happy AEDM to you all, too!

Find it slow to start this year (doing both NaNoWriMo and AEDM) maybe it’s because I came from uber busy in the house and still haven’t unpacked everything (since May!) to these more pensive activities ignoring the chores as much as possible…

Happy AEDM everyone!

I’m also struggling a little to kick start myself into action. I’ve had a lot on my plate lately, particularly with my brother’s recent surgery. However, I’m hoping that I can gain some enthusiasm as the days go on so please bear with me.

Serena :)

Managed to get yesterday’s done but not on th blog until today. Have done Day 4 today. I’m really pleased that I’m keeping up.

Painted our jack-o-lantern today. Cutesier than my usual stuff, but fun nonetheless. Now I need to get ahead a bit to compensate for next week’s trip to London!

Ohhhhhh this is really becoming Something Good. :) Haven’t actually produced anything I really like yet but I’m in my studio every day playing and trying things out, and that feels really great. I did a collage yesterday and have plans to start a new painting today.

I have just found you but will catch up on the days I have missed. I hope this is ok.
Just going to have a look at all the other work.
This is a great idea for a challenge and that is what it is really going to be!

Day 4, Check!

Fun seeing everyone’s daily work.!!!!

Am trying to do something a bit different every day (with the exception of the first two days). Starting out this morning coloring a floral mandala was a great way to begin the day. Am looking forward to seeing what others created today!

My AEDM project is at the end of my regular Friday post. This week, I’m playing with fabric flowers.

Still no power, so just a picture today.

Thanks again for this great motivation to do something everyday. Sometimes my biggest obstacle is ME!! :) Today on the blog ATCs for an exchange with friends.

Hello day four! (sorry got lazy with posting day three), but I’m here today!

Popping in with a WIP…late night last night! Thanks to all that have stopped by with an awesome comment…look forward to seeing what creative fun you’ve been up to since yesterday!

[...] piece is posted for the 4th day of Art Every Day Month. The goal is to be creative in some way every day. I don’t know how to NOT be creative every [...]

Happy Friday everyone! With a busy weekend ahead I wonder when I’ll make art… Oh well, one day at a time I suppose!

Was a hard day today, but the constant in the chaos is creating. Thanks for the incentive!!

I’m starting off with a bang, with plans on continuing to work on the last 10-15 pages in my exacompta journal. I love this journal!

I’m loving this challenge! It’s exactly what I needed to kick start my return to art :)

I’m loving how this is getting me to do ‘different’ stuff! Actually drew something today lol

Day 4 also check :)

Only able to get a doodle/sketch done today … too busy! Happy creating!

I finished another prayer shawl today.

Day 4 – How a preliminary value sketch can save a composition.

Wasn’t feeling that well today, but I did manage to sit for long enough to do a wee doodle. :)

Wiihooo!! A post on my how-to’s to be inspired more often!

Late check in for me tonight. Busy doing to many things for too many other people. Finally…my time. Another creative day.

i road tripped today!

I’m running late again. Nothing brilliant fell from my pen today. Probably because I didn’t hold it enough. So very tired. Good night & thank you :)

Feeling a little under the weather today so I just did a sketchbook page….

Finally did more than “just” backgrounds!!

better late than never ;)

Definitely late it being 5 November.

Some days, my art doesn’t show on the outside.

On day four, my camera stopped working. So, no visual documentation for a few days, not that it’ll stop the creating. :)

Still making baby steps, but on day 5 this all comes together!

Playing catch up w/ the posts, but I will catch up- lol!
