Creative Every Day Check-In: February 20 -26

February 20th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 2/20/12 - 2/26/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for February is Night, which you can read more about here.

Happy Creating!

Thanks again for hosting this, it’s been a creative week!

Just some doodling while lying on the sofa with a cold and feeling very sorry for myself ;) . I’ll have to think about the night theme now… Have a wonderfully creative week everyone!

This theme has facilitated a place {a purpose} for me to process journal entries from December and January. Sort of like a memorial service to remember and reflect before moving on without that which required so much attention in its passing, I suppose.

Creative {Night} Blessings, Leah and all CED artists! ♥

Hi all
Night featured in my creativity this week in a lateral sense in that I lay awake most of last night imagining a new novel. I’m meant to be working on another project but I decided to let my mind go where it wanted. Come morning, I had the entire plot for a new novel which I’ve spent today writing up. Who knows from where these stories well up? I’m just glad they do.

Hi Leah,
Going to try again to commit to being Creative Every Day in 2012. It’s been tough going for me so far this year – now onward and upward…time to Soar.

Sorry about your Sadie’s passing Leah. ((hugs))

Stay inspired!

I’m so sorry about your loss, Leah. I understand how you feel. ((hugs))

Lots of hugs to you and healing energy ~ namaste, carol (A Creative Harbor)

I forgot to post this one a week ago but had to show it

Leah,
So sorry to hear about Sadie. Now you have another guardian watching over you…xo

Thanks Leah for keeping this going. I’ve been very sporadic in posting, but I always enjoy looking in on others’ creative work.

I’ll be working on more shoe sketches, studies and artwork this week. Also, getting ready for spring even though it’s still maple syrup season here in Canada, so the girls and I plan on visiting the Floral Showhouse this week for some on-sight drawing and taking reference photos for working at home. I have “Anandi’s Boots” and “Night Flight” up on my blog and will be adding more work in progress.

I’ve been doing process art every day and blogging about it since the start of 2012. Please visit http://www.processartjournal.com/ to see what I’ve been up to, and be sure to also click on the “More Art” link at the top.

I’ll be sending out a newsletter within a few days, so now is a good time to sign up if you’d like to receive my newsletters.

Last night I wanted to try a completely different medium, so I painted my husband’s face. He’s half Native American and half Japanese, and he looks straight out of a different world with his face painted. Here’s a link: http://www.processartjournal.com/2012/02/19/ancient/

So sorry about Sadie’s passing, Leah!

This theme has made me muse on dark days (and dark mood) and their meaning

Wahoo finally posted blog! Had fun cooking and painting, this week coming up I’m following night theme defo!

Totally behind and put link on wrong week, so will appear twice in two places, sorry!

Hello Leah hope all well your way, have had fun with a forest moon painting, have another in my head, just about finding right moments to go for it, bit by bit it will happen, take care xx

Hello Leah, really enjoying night theme, perfect for winter, loved painting a forest moon, on to another idea with a moon, twisted tree and a little russian doll like figure, will see what happens…take care xx

My first day. Thanks for having me.

I joined a postcard challenge that is so much fun. So far I have done postcards from Belgium and Wales. Off to visit colleges with my daughter this week. Woohoo!

In keeping with the theme of “Night”, today’s post is a journey to the dark – to the Soul Home.

Wishing you well, Leah, as you say goodbye to Sadie.

In keeping with the night theme, these shoes would only be worn at night:)

Fun week. The Creative Every Day Challenge is so inspiring.

In honor of Mardi Gras, I made my first King Cake this week (:

I love the wealth of creativity found here!

Hey all
I found this challenge late last week. Lately I’ve been exploring Art Journaling.

hello ! glad to participate ! hugs from France !

Leah, Thank you for hosting this. It has been my motivation to begin blogging again. Wishing you comfort to help ease the empty spaces we find in our lives after the passing of a dear friend.

I´ve made some self-portraits this week, as I was writing the post, I realized that I was talking about coming from dark to light

Good morning Leah. I have put up another post, the last one was at 4am this morning and so I fell a little over-productive. If you wish, you can delete it. But the 4am one feels like yesterday. I was hoping to get this under your radar, but now I have admitted all…have a good day!

In the Night theme, I took a picture of the sunset from the bathroom window. It was beautiful once you got past the houses, the trees and the spots on the bathroom window. I guess my lesson was that there is beauty everywhere, sometimes you just have to look past the crud! :)

Hi Leah, just found out about your fun challenge and signed up :)

I must admit that I’ve been pretty slack with this challenge, but I am determined to put some time aside this weekend! Hopefully the mini sketches and random doodles will materialise into something!

I was thinking of this challenge while creating this art piece for an upcoming steampunk-inspired wedding. Tranquil, dark, romantic.

I’m a little late checking in this week but I’m still here, enjoying this challenge. Just posted today about this week’s creativity. Always feels great to blog about life and art!

Woopie, its super late but its posted!

This week I printed lots of little photos so that I would have them as journal fodder for my art journal! http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/advance-prep.html
