Creative Every Day Check-In: February 27 – March 4

February 27th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 2/20/12 - 2/26/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for February is Night, which you can read more about here. The March theme will be up on Tuesday!

Happy Creating!

Happy creating, everyone! Thank you again, Leah, for helping us connect.

Hello Leah, still loving your night theme, my latest creation is a mixture of photo and painting: a moon lit dream walk,if you get a chance to check it, hope you enjoy.
All the best to you Leah, take care.xx

I’ve had a nice creative week, working with the children I teach art and drawing another mandala. I was feeling joy when I posted this week to my blog so I posted an ATC that fits that theme of joy and fun! Have a productive and creative week everyone!

I have a guest post today from another CED artist. xoxo terah

I’m proud of myself. I stuck to the theme and my last submission I did something different.

My blog post yesterday evening was about the creative fun I had transforming into an Olympic athlete. And a work in progress. The last week has been busy but good. Today I’ve continued with the WIP I gave an early glimpse of in last night’s post.

Hope you all have a happy & creative week!

Kat Xx

Enjoying just getting back into the studio and doing a bit of playing around with colors that call to me….

what have I been up to? photography & haiku… just beginning a 30 day photo challenge!

Hoping to get some more Word art done this week (really happy with last week’s! :) and I have a piece of writing swirling around in my head . . . just need to get it out! :)

I’ve uploaded some wild images I drew/painted with aquarelle pencils to my Process Art Journal website at http://www.processartjournal.com/evolution/ — no idea where they came from, but I can’t stop looking at them!

A little bit of magical night with Mr Bear! Inspiration comes in little spurts, it was a crazy busy week at work and yet felt like a very creative weekend :-)

A little yarn, a little paint and a little paper.

This week is going to be a busy one – maple syrup season is in full swing here in the Niagara region of Canada, plus the various homeschool events we have going on.

The girls and I went to the Floral Showhouse here and I started a watercolour and took lots of great reference photos, so I’ll be posting some of the artwork as I get started and some of the other things I am working on. Perhaps I may start something related to our maple syrup adventures!

Have a great week!

so fun to see yours and others’ creations. thank you!

Well I must say with February coming to a close, the theme of “night” rather alluded me. However, it was a good month for dawn photographs and painting. So this is just how it goes sometimes. Best of the week everyone!

this has been on my mind constantly and i’ve had a hard time being inspired. But lo & behold, today while working (and in the middle of a phone/text arguement with my mom) i was inspired. :)

Thank you for helping ive ideas to inspire and help me gain back my sanity one piece at a time. :) i look forward to participating more and seeing everyone elses submissions. Thank you again SOOOOOOOO much!!

Oops! A little late this week. I had a long list of things to do today that didn’t include art. Bad, bad, bad! So, I scrapped two items to give me time for my art – which is SO important. Here’s hoping you all have a wonderfully creative week!

Enjoying multiple forms of expression this week – writing, drawing, painting – in the form of circles. In today’s post I write about the journey of giving up the linear life and entering the circle…

What a coincidence, I’m just rereading Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire and I happen to be around the passage where the quote was taken from.

I can’t always do things that could be presented regularly for creative every day but I try to do some art, even if with work, it’s sometimes difficult.

Thank you again for this artistic space you give us.

I finished my first block of painting classes and have signed up for another lot. It’s such a relief to spend some time free of words. I decided to buy some paints to mess about with at home – lots of deep blues and purples, suitable for a night scene, so I may end up joining the night and mixed media themes. Thanks, Leah, for the inspiration.

Back to the Winter Trees. Sigh. Love.

Wow, this challenge has really motivated me to CREATE. Love it! I just posted a fun slideshow on my regular blog (http://www.jenniferlovegironda.com/blog.html) and the last CED piece for the month of February on my blog dedicated to this endeavor (http://www.jenniferlovegironda.com/creative-every-day-challenge.html)

I wasn’t going to check the theme for March until tomorrow, but, well…its technically TOMORROW right now. So…I am so excited about mixed media!!!!! Yay!

Happy arting, everyone!

Jenny

I have been planning to link up here for months and months, and I’m finally here! Wow, the first year of motherhood really threw me for a loop! I’ve been squeezing in creative time whenever I can (mostly photography these days). Hopefully I’ll be able to pop in here more often from now on…

Uploaded post on dreaming journal- recording dreams. Had fun with paint-again!

Well, I never did get that Night painting done in February…but mixed media I can do! Happy March!!
