Creative Every Day Check-In: May 28 – June 3

May 28th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/28/12 - 6/3/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is One, which you can read more here.

Happy Creating!

I’m finishing up the 29 Faces May challenge this week. After that, I think I’m going to keep creating faces! Giving myself “permission” through joining the challenge, to draw and paint what I most want to draw and paint, has successfully jump started my creativity after months of being artistically stalled. Yay for all of us giving ourselves myself permission to create whatever we feel driven to create.

I’ve wanted to join CED for so long, always illness has held me back. New Dr, new meds, life is looking good & now I’m looking forward to sharing & seeing what everyone else is up to! Thank you Leah, for creating this opportunity! fine me on twitter @Erinsartjournal

This week’s post takes me back to a week long solo writing retreat that I did last summer, but is very much where my focus is these days.

Happy creating friends.

Tending for some orphaned racoons has taken up some creative time, but fortunately my deadline for the paintings I’ve been working on has been extended until June 15. This week I’ll be working on getting everything finished or as closed to finished as possible, so I’ll have a little breathing room before the deadline and be able to concentrate on getting my studio/workshop area completed. I’ve taken more in progress photos and will post them later this week.

Have a creative week everyone! :-)

Hello Leah, here’s hoping all is well your way, I’ve linked with a little sketch and collage piece. Just trying to fit art in when I can, you know how busy life is with a little one, I hope Annabelle is doing well, Lucia will be One on Wednesday, such a special little day! Take care and all the best to you. xx

Busy week, to nice to stay inside, so the gardens are getting cleaned up and planted. But I finished my ATC’s for a swap in June, and wrote about them and how they are a great exercise for your creative journey.

I’ve been MIA for a while, but recently posted some art done in the last few months. It feels good to be back :)

This week a made a flower on my flower loom. Took much longer than I expected, but I did like it and will make more. Finished up a couple paintings and made a yarn vase for the Creative Color Challenge.

I love seeing what everyone is doing. I have been writing, taking photos mostly all spring. I hope to be back in my studio soon creating fiber art. Terah

Amazing the month is almost over! Managed to finish two illustrations today so feel some accomplishment, better than most :) Happy creating.

It is continually impressed upon me that being creative is not an end point. It is a process and a journey and a cyclical road we walk upon. How can I ALWAYS be getting back to being creative? I’ve been on this ride for 20 years. I’m coming to accept the ebb and flow of creativity in my life. I fib. I have not accepted it yet. It still frustrates me, but I’m getting closer to understanding what is going on.

Urban Foraging anyone??? Terah

One Kitty!
