Creative Every Day Check-In: June 4 – 10

June 4th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 6/4/12 - 6/10/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for June is Opposites, which you can read more here.

Happy Creating!

I am finally on a 9 week vacation and though I have a very long to-do list at the top of the list is ‘creative’ action. In fact, I just worked on a UFO painting! (Unfinished Object). I will try to take a snap and post it but I have workmen coming in to take up the reconstruction of my living room after water damage…yes, life is happening and blah, blah, blah. So, my plan to day? 1. remain calm and carry on. 2. do art or something creative 3). Do one chore, 4). exercise at somepoint – I hope the rain stops and lastly, 5). Do more art or something creative.

I’ve been doing process art and blogging about it every day since January 1. Even on those days when it’s a challenge to make time for it, I’m always glad I did. And it’s awesome to make a commitment and follow through with it.

Happy creating, everyone!

Fun week for me…I’m learning to crochet!

This month is an exciting one over at my blog! As I’m figuring out how to follow my purpose (something I’ve referred to as my “Soul Path”), I’ve turned to my community to help. Throughout the month of June, my blog is hosting writers, artists, healers, wise women, astrologers, teachers and others to write about what it means to follow their purpose – their Soul Path.

You can read about the series in my introduction to it here: http://thespiritthatmovesme.blogspot.ca/2012/05/soul-paths-women-answering-call.html

There are 4-5 posts a week, so come by any time!

Working on getting artwork done for my upcoming deadline. I’ve posted some new images of a few of the finished paintings on my blog post of Ker Church and will be posting more in-progress and finished images soon. Have a creative week everyone! :-)

Looking forward to creating a design inspired by “Opposites.” Here’s what I just finished for a different challenge. http://jessicasporn.blogspot.com/2012/06/june-1-create-cover-or-introduction.html

I’ve been really inspired lately & having a blast with digital collage. It’s a lot of fun!

Out of necessity my work has been small lately, but I finally have a sweet treat to share…

I’m not sure that I qualify to link up, but my photos today show contrast in color. I wish I could do this every day. What a fun idea!

i love how i follow my own inner process, and then come to share my work and see how it fits with your theme! very cool! thanks, Leah!

I posted something I wrote yesterday as a challenge from a 15 Day Challenge I am doing. The challenge was a dare. The Dare was to tell someone you respected or were scared that you were a write. So I wrote a letter to Anne Lamott my favorite author. I NEVER do anything like that so it was truly an OPPOSITE way of dealing with being a writer for me.

Enjoy!

Not on this month’s theme (although shall now give thought to creating something new with the theme) but over on my blog sharing some art journaling inspired by matters close to my heart!

Hope you’re all having a happy & creative week!
And to all you in the UK – hope you had a fun few days holiday celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee :-)

Posted some pics of my finished acrylic painting – now I’m off to submit it for the student art show!

I’ve been in hyperdrive with life, finally I had time to join back in.
