Creative Every Day Check-In: January 28 – February 3

January 28th, 2013

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign-up for the 2013 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 1/28/13 - 2/3/13.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter or Instagram you can use the hashtag #CED2013!

Theme: January's totally optional theme is Dark, which you read more about here. February's theme will be up tomorrow (Tuesday)!

Happy Creating!

Off to visit everyone ;-)

Well, I’ve just posted my list from last week, 21-27 Jan. This challenge is certainly helping me to see the creativity in many things, although I’ve thus far refrained from claiming thinking up something for dinner as being creative (although it often is when I’m deciding about what to put together and how..).

Next post will appear on Weds and that’ll be an update on my current WIPs – works in progress. Now then, I’d better make sure there’s something worth posting….. (goes off to stitch.)

After some weeks exploring darkness and shadows, I´ve been led to light and its endless possibilities. Past week I played with it and found out that I want to explore a sort of clarity (literal and metaphorically) that my photos are showing. Happy creative week!

I must be in the “dark” mode as I have been painting black backgrounds for a few weeks and using them for the base of several “creations”

Hello Leah, I love your doll house project for Annabelle, she’ll love it and so will you!

I’m excited to participate in this challenge this year! Everyone is so inspiring.

Hi Leah!!! Thanks for hosting and have a great week :) )

Oh I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s in store for February! Thanks!

I really love participating here, Leah. Thank you SO MUCH for hosting the link-up. Have a wonderful week!

thanks for providing a way to share our creative impulses–and i always love seeing your beautiful work!

I have not been making it over here to post as I do not have a set day. I am thinking that I will make Wednesdays my day to post, as that is my day for discussing my works in progress for the week.

Thank you for what you do here. I do appreciate it even when I am not making it over here to post.

I finally got a chance to post my dark sketch. I am looking forward to seeing where each theme takes me!!

I’m so glad I made it in time to join in on the darkness theme. January is such a depressing month for me but I’ve been reading Goethe’s Theory of Colors and it has been influencing my perception of shadows. Darkness sometimes isn’t as simple as it seems – there are colors within darkness if we train our eyes to see. Thank you Leah for your inspiration!

Hi, I am new here. I just finished the “30 paintings in 30 days” challenge by Leslie Saeta and thought this would be a good place to continue. Not sure if I am doing it right but I will learn. Too bad, that there is no preview of those that have checked in. This was for me a good motivation to follow the different links.
Two of my paintings in January had the theme of darkness:

Just posted my creative week. :) Really enjoy seeing what everyone else is up to too. :D

Hi to all! And thank you!
