Creative Every Day Check-In: January 7 – 13

January 7th, 2013

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign-up for the 2013 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 1/7/13 - 1/13/13.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter or Instagram you can use the hashtag #CED2013!

Theme: January's totally optional theme is Dark, which you read more about here.

Happy Creating!

The Mister Linky widget was down last night for maintenance, so I'll have it up as soon as possible. In the meantime, feel free to leave links in the comments! And it's back! Sorry for the delay!

As always, love coming by here and seeing what everyone is up to. I think I spend just as much time browsing other projects as I do making my own, but I love how everyone here shares their ideas. So Awesome!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Looking forward to connecting with many of my friends here. See you soon! http://gina-hereandnow.blogspot.com/2013/01/on-campus.html

Hi! Still no Mr Linky, but I’ve just posted my complete update for the last week at:

http://sew-in-love.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/creative-every-day-challenge-monday.html

I’ll be doing each week in retrospect, but will make sure and link to the right post as far as within me lies!

It’s been a good first week and I’m pleased at how the need to be able to ‘tick the box’ for CED each day has made me get on with certain projects.=) I should get lots more done this year, just so that I can come out with 365/365 on 31 Dec!!!

I considered NOT DOing CED this year and then changed my heart… I suppose it is BEcause HERE is where I have met so many of the wonderful people I Now “know” [at least online] and Who have shown me other paths and doors..

I’m going to share I Love You, Currie this year, having completed my 366 Daze of Grace blog project. I’ll need to build in the time to really visit others and respond thoughtfully. I CAN DO that!!

I have been taking some photos exploring the dark theme, but finally I found out that they could be a fantastic way to illustrate my resolutions for this year as they show the great importance of light

You can see here: http://myhealingmoments.blogspot.com.es/2013/01/day-36528.html

I´ll be back to add it to the linky later on

Hope this year will treat you well

Happy New Year to everyone here.
I definitely need to start exploring some dark..in the meantime – I’m into winter and exploring the light:

Happy New Year, all. Good to get back into the swing of things. With the start of the new year I’m trying to do more daily creating as encouraged by you, Leah. I feel out of practice for a bit with so much going on in life and work.

Happy New Year Leah! Best of wishes to you and your family! xx

I’m doing a project using Ann Voskamp’s book, One Thousand Gifts, with art journaling. This challenge went well with the CED theme, dark, so I posted a link to the site where I’m sharing my journey with Ann’s book.

Wow, so much bubbling creative energy here! Sounds like everyone’s on a roll. I’ve just finished my first painting of the year; there’s something about this new year energy!x

This is my project for the year. I’ve posted art in my blog and short essays regarding the piece or just feelings from the day. I’ve always thought of January as a dark month and yesterday’s post was just that. Thank you for the inspiration!

Thanks for hosting. My word for 2013 is Focus and part of that is to sign up for CED. Hoping it will keep me on the straight and narrow!

Hey.. wow look at all this amazing stuff on here. I suspect I’ve posted in the wrong week as this is a round up of last week. Really inspired this week. Enjoying seeing your works develop

I am a novice and I don’t have a blog or even pictures to post for you. But I have been exploring “dark”. I played with my watercolors and looking looking at the shades of each. while each has a place in a specific picture I simply love the darker colors, they are juicier. juicier is a new word for my and my art. but just this week…two artists said Let’s make these colors juicier! ha great word. can’t you just see the color overflowing and spreading its joy?
I also wrote a Haiku about the dark which took me into a new realm of art.
and I wrote a story highlighting the quiet and peacefulness of the dark.
It was a great week.

Hi- I’m a knitter, quilter, papercraft and trying zentangle crafter! I love the idea of this and I am trying to keep up with my Blog (Abandoned for YEARS btw) to keep track of the fun. I don’t think I will do much with the dark theme as it doesn’t “work” with the stuff on my crafty to-do list other than trying to dig out the mess the craft room has become and the # of projects that I want to finish!

Happy New Year, Leah, and all the creative people here! I’m currently working on “Bandit Sister” paintings – our two rescue raccoons are the models. Although they are pretty much in hibernation, only coming out occasionally to grab a snack and drink, I have lots of reference photos :-) I also have some small paintings I started when teaching an oil painting class locally which I’ll be finishing up. Have a creative new year and week!

I am very encouraged by this site and participating in the challenge. Thank you! I look forward to a whole year of creativity and camaraderie. Heh, heh, how about creative spelling? Had to look that one up.

Happy New Year everyone! Very excited to start this New Year with CED!

Today’s post is my personal reflection and questions about how we bring all the various parts of ourselves together – how we practice the Inner Union.

Hi everybody, this week I am just creating…just letting the juices flow, no judgement, no trying to make something that will sell or please others. I’m back to work after my holiday break, and my break was such a fertile time, I want to hang on to that as much as I can.

Love your blog. Thank you for your inspiring paintings. Looking forward to participating in the challenge.
