Art Every Day Month, Day 5

November 5th, 2013

Today is the 5th day of Art Every Day Month. I'm feeling so energized by the process and hope you are too!

I usually post my art at the end of the day, but every morning there will be a check-in post like this one, where you can share your work whenever you're ready to do so.

***I"m going to add this to the instruction below, but just in case it helps you, I'll put it up here today as well. Some folks have had trouble with sharing a thumbnail image with the Mr. Linky widget. My suggestion is to put the url of your latest post in the url box. Then, when it gives you a few options for sharing an image, choose the "pick an image from your site" option. From there, you should be able to select an image of your latest work or some other image from your site. It may take a minute for your image to appear here on the blog. I hope that helps!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, in a past AEDM, for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work. Mr. Linky automatically asks for a comment, leave one if you'd like (I love to hear from you!), but it's not required. It may take a little time for your image and/or link to appear. If you don't see it right away, check back in a few minutes. If you're having trouble with the sharing a thumbnail, try putting the url of your latest post in the url box. Then, when it gives you a few options for sharing an image, choose the "pick an image from your site" option. From there, you should be able to select an image of your latest work or some other image from your site. It may take a minute for your image to appear here on the blog.

If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participant sign up page before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2013 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2013 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link. Feel free to keep checking in on Mondays or post whenever you have something new to share!

Happy to be doing something creative every day this month! A good chance for me to work on all the unfinished projects around my house and to start some new ones. Hope everyone is enjoying the AEDM experience!

You are so right! I feel sooooo energize after creating something everyday, such a happy feeling :) Thank you so much for doing this challenge, love it!

This is either my fifth or sixth year doing AEDM and I believe, no, I KNOW, this is my best year yet. I am not only enjoying the art I am busily creating (finishing!) but also the community rapport has been fantastic.

THANK YOU, Leah, and all!!

Love the picture of your daughter with her telescope and knowing while she was resting you might have been dealing with my problem as well as looking for stars.

Hey, I actually dusted off my sewing machine for today’s creative post! I forget sometimes how much I enjoy creating with fabric too.

I’ve attempted to do this a couple of years now. I’m a little late getting started, but here is my first day. I did spend time with my kids making necklaces this weekend, and my 5 1/2 year old decided that he wanted to paint and made a picture totally independently. I’m getting psyched that my kids are getting interested in arts and crafts. I’m looking forward to getting them to participate with me.

Wow! I went from more than three months without writing to now writing every day… I just hope it doesn’t all suck! {smile}

I didn’t get chance to make anything today but I did receive 2 faces in the post (drawings that is :) ). Hopefully the traffic wont delay me getting home tomorrow

AEDM is my first challenge I ever joined. So I will use that as my excuse … I am getting a bit confused with what day I am on. I guess I will just keep trying to post everyday. :)

I evidently need challenges like this to keep me making art everyday. If I don’t have a challenge to complete, I find other things than art to do, that’s pathetic!! lol
