Art Every Day Month, Day 6

November 6th, 2013

Today is the 6th day of Art Every Day Month. May your day be a beautifully creative one!

I usually post my art at the end of the day, but every morning there will be a check-in post like this one, where you can share your work whenever you're ready to do so.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, in a past AEDM, for day one I linked to my first post: instead of my main blog page: This makes it easier for people to find your work. Mr. Linky automatically asks for a comment, leave one if you'd like (I love to hear from you!), but it's not required. It may take a little time for your image and/or link to appear. If you don't see it right away, check back in a few minutes. If you're having trouble with the sharing a thumbnail, try putting the url of your latest post in the url box. Then, when it gives you a few options for sharing an image, choose the "pick an image from your site" option. From there, you should be able to select an image of your latest work or some other image from your site. It may take a minute for your image to appear here on the blog.

If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participant sign up page before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2013 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2013 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link. Feel free to keep checking in on Mondays or post whenever you have something new to share!

I just wanted to say everyone’s prompts are inspiring me a lot. Thank you all so much for being so supportive and oh, so creative! Happy High Fives!

I’m really starting to feel the inspiration!!! This challenge is such a nice end of year boost when you’re feeling tired and less inspired.

It will probably be tonight before I have the opportunity to visit others.

I’m late but I’m here…lol

This challenge is keeping me on my toes. It’s got me taking my sketch book to work with me so I can doodle in it at lunch time.

Continuing to work in my altered book art journal and a darker style than my usual art journal pages.

Hello :) I’ve attempted doing challenges like this before but end up putting too much pressure on myself. I love this idea though and I’ve kept up with doing it so far, even if it’s just a little bit in my journal each day! Looking forward to seeing what other people are doing.

I am enjoying this immensely and have blogged every day as well as doing something arty.. Its a challenge that I am determined to accomplish my daughter said I wouldn’t do it so that made me even more determined.. She is encouraging me along now that she sees that I was serious about it.. :)
