Day 20: i carry your heart with me

November 20th, 2013

Today, a little piece done with Inktense watercolor pencils on watercolor paper. Inspired by the ee cummings poem:

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

A wanted to try out the watercolor pencils too, so I wet a small piece of watercolor paper and let her draw. She loved it!

Leah, I LOVE this! Beautiful with the poem! Blessings, Olivia

Your paintings are so expressive and thoughtful. beautiful.

i’d never read that e e cummings poem before ~ if i could write one poem in my life as good as this, i would be fulfilled…

your painting is gorgeous! i hope you will be adding some of the pieces you do this month to your gallery. i definitely plan to buy a print after the first of the year ~ the only problem will be deciding which one. you are an amazing artist, Leah!
