Day 30: Fox Dreams III

November 30th, 2014, Comments (0)

Another year of AEDM complete!! Congrats to all the participants and a huge thank you for joining in and sharing your work. It inspires me greatly! I'm especially happy I got through this year's challenge with baby Alex here. Small pieces in small pockets of time worked well. And the late nights ended up providing lots of inspiration!

Art Every Day Month Day 30

Today is the 30th day of Art Every Day Month! Congratulations!!! Whether you did all 30 days or 5, you added more creativity into your life and that's something to celebrate! Keep on creating!

I usually post my art at the end of the day, but every morning there will be a check-in post like this one, where you can share your work whenever you're ready to do so.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, in a past AEDM, for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participant sign up page before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2014 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. A Facebook group has been created this year as yet another place to share.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

Creative Every Day Theme for December 2014: Festive

November 29th, 2014, Comments (0)

At the end of each month I will announce the totally optional theme for the following month. For the month of December 2014, the theme will be Festive. I was thinking of the upcoming holidays, time spent with family, preparing gifts, foods, and decorations.

As always, this month's theme for the Creative Every Day Challenge is totally optional. Use it if it inspires you, continue being creative every day in your own way if it doesn't, or do something in between. You can sign up for the 2014 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime. More info can be found here and the sign-up page is here.

I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month on the blog to help keep you inspired. You can use the posts here for jumping off points or interpret the theme in your own creative way. If you need some suggestions, here are a few ideas to get you started. You could:

  • *Decorate your home for the holidays
  • *Prepare festive foods and drinks you usually prepare this time of year or try something new
  • *Work with the colors of the season.
  • *Take a walk in your area and take photographs of the small moments of festivities around you. Twinkle lights, winter berries, wreaths and trees.
  • *Sing songs with your family.
  • *Write about a treasured holiday moment.

How to use the CED themes:

If you're feeling creatively stuck or blocked at any point during the month, use the theme as a source of inspiration to get you moving. Feel free to focus on the theme in your creative activities for the entire month or as much as you'd like.

Using the theme is entirely optional for CED participants. Use it if it inspires you, ignore it if it doesn't. I'll be sharing posts throughout the month around the theme (among other things) to get you thinking about how to incorporate it into your life. I'd love to hear how you use the theme in your creative world.

And have fun with it!
