Day 30: Shedding Gold

November 30th, 2012, Comments (8)

Another magical year of Art Every Day Month has come to a close today. As I mentioned in the check-in, it was one of my favorites. Things just seemed to be flowing and that always feels good. I hope that things were flowing for you as well. If you want to keep the energy going, sign up for the Creative Every Day Challenge. The check-ins are weekly (every Monday) and continue throughout the year. Stay tuned for December's (totally optional) theme and the sign-up page for 2013!

Today's art is another intuitive piece I'm calling "Shedding Gold." And now, time for bed.

Footsteps

Another intuitive piece today. Simple, but I'm loving it. Seems fitting that the second day of this month brought a mother - daughter image and the second to last day did as well.

I can not believe that tomorrow is the last day of Art Every Day Month this year! As always, it flew.

Day 27: Quiet Night

November 27th, 2012, Comments (11)

Tonight is a quiet night at home.

So much fun with little Miss Annabelle today, who was so happy to see some of her little friends in art class today. My child has no fear of mess. It does not phase her to be covered in paint, goo, or soapy bubbles. That's my girl! At home we colored together with animal head crayons that were supposed to be a stocking stuffer (oops!) We played many, many games of Ring Around the Rosy, read many books, chased the cats. And tonight when I told her it was time for bed, she said, "Oh No!" haha. She went to bed just fine though.

Phoenix

Playing intuitively with paint today, I saw a phoenix in the shapes as I worked, so this one I'm dedicating to my lovely sister, Leslie or as Annabelle calls her, Lala.

Day 21: Creating a Forest of Her Own

November 21st, 2012, Comments (7)

Tonight, I started this painting after dinner, while Annabelle was still awake and she was super jealous. She wanted to paint too!

The acorn imagery appears in this painting as well, in the gut of the woman and also coming out of her hand over the forest blooming from her dress.

I will be away tomorrow, so I most likely won't post my art from Thursday until Friday (the daily posts will still be up.) I hope those of you in the States have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Day 14: Golden Trees

November 14th, 2012, Comments (10)

A piece of intuitive art today. Playing with paint on watercolor paper, this is what came out!

Tomorrow, I leave for a few days away with family. The daily check-in posts will still be up, so you can share your work, but I won't have my laptop, so I won't be able to post my work until I return (Sunday.) If I can connect to the internet on my phone, I will be sharing my work each day on Instagram! And I'll be able to check my email occasionally. Good luck with your creating, everyone!!

Day 11 – Blue Lantern

November 11th, 2012, Comments (6)

Weekends seem to be just as jam-packed as weekdays around these parts, but it was fun! Today, I started with painting color on a wet sheet of watercolor paper and then let my intuition be my guide as to where to take it. It turned into this woman carrying a lantern full of blue light.

Playing Around

July 12th, 2012, Comments (10)

I've been having fun playing with the round theme! This one was a bit of play with paint on black paper. I'm calling it "Above and Below."

And here's a doodle I did last week.

If you're playing with the round theme, I hope you're having fun with it too!

The Weight of Walking

June 16th, 2012, Comments (16)

I had a brief pocket of time today, just ten minutes actually, and I used it to do a little free form painting. Ah, that felt good.

I used the opposites theme as a jumping off point, starting with black paper and white paint.

One, a little late

I did these pieces for the one theme and I'm just now getting around to posting them. Life has been busy! I was working with a blue monochromatic background to go along with the one theme of last month and later went into them with white ink to bring out these images, Bucket and Trailing Stars. They feel like a pair to me. And ah-ha! They also work for the Opposite theme this month, with one figure looking up and one looking down!
