Homecoming

November 30th, 2010, Comments (36)

For Day 30 of Art Every Day Month, I played again with fluid acrylics on watercolor paper. I started to feel like the last few days have been pages of a story that I don't know the end to. By creating intuitively, I didn't know what the next page was going to hold, but they still seemed to tie together into a story. It was fun being surprised by what came next each day. I'm calling this one "Homecoming" and it's about 10"x9".

This month has been the fastest moving Art Every Day Month for me yet! It truly flew by! I so appreciate the wonderful energy created by this great group. And while I'm ready for a break from posting every day, I will miss it. Thank goodness we get to do it again next year!

In the meantime, there's still the Creative Every Day Challenge. Tomorrow, I'll have a post about December's optional theme of "Air." And I'll also be posting later this week about the 2011 Creative Every Day Challenge and how you can sign-up and join in.

Purple Forest

For day 29 of Art Every Day Month, I wanted to play on watercolor paper and fluid acrylics again. I had a totally different idea in mind when I started, but after I got going, I had to follow where the art took me, which was to this purple forest! It's about 10"x11".

I can hardly believe the month is coming to an end! This one totally flew by. I'll say thank you to all you amazing creatives tomorrow, but in the meantime, I hope the final day of Art Every Day Month is a beautiful one for you!

Red at Night

For day 28 of Art Every Day Month, I was back in my studio and feeling like playing. I worked with fluid acrylics on wet watercolor paper, sprinkled on some salt, and then let it dry. I looked for an image in it after, and then painted and drew in the figure, moon, and stars. It's about 7"x9."

Inkblot Twins

November 27th, 2010, Comments (14)

I'm totally tuckered out from family time and I'm still in my pajamas today, surrounded by cuddly kitties who are happy to have us home. I'm enjoying these little inkblots though. It had been awhile since I'd done them and I forgot just how fun they are! So for day 27 of Art Every Day Month, here's another inkblot of a pair of Twins, in lovely dresses.

Blue Lady

November 24th, 2010, Comments (15)

Today, for day 24 of Art Every Day Month I wanted to just play and see what happened. As I painted, a figure began to form, so I went with it. This "Blue Lady" is about 6"x12" with acrylic on canvas paper. Although I wasn't planning, I just noticed now, it looks like she has long purple hair.

If you live in the States, I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! The check-in posts will be here, so check-in if you can.

We're going to my dad and step-mom's for the holiday with my siblings. And we'll be having dinner at my mom and step-dad's on Friday evening. I pre-made some inkblots in a small sketchbook to take with me to make art out of while I'm away from home. I plan to post them, as long as I can get online!

p.s. Tomorrow's the last day to pre-order my 2011 Calendar and get a drawing on your birthday!

Held

Day 17 of Art Every Day Month. Another intuitive piece. I did the collage elements first and saw the figure so clearly! I like how the dress came together, however, I feel like I want to change the background, but for now this is where I'll stop.

Thought Clouds

November 15th, 2010, Comments (19)

For day 15 of Art Every Day Month, I decided to play with Caran d'Ache water soluble pastels. The image just kind of popped into being when I put pastel to paper. It's about 9"x12" on paper.

I also spent some time with my best friend today crafting Christmas ornaments, which I'll have to snap some pictures of later. I'm choosing not to think about the fact that the holidays are right around the corner. Yikes!

Time was going so slow this fall, while I was waiting for ultrasound appointments and such, but all of the sudden time is speeding up! I am looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner however. I'm going to be trying out this pumpkin cornbread recipe and bringing that along. Has anyone tried it or something like it?

The Walk

November 12th, 2010, Comments (26)

For day 12 of Art Every Day Month, I created intuitively and playfully. I didn't know where I was going, when I put ink on watercolor paper and let it drip. I let it sit for awhile and wasn't seeing anything I wanted to pull out, so I started painting over it with acrylic and let that sit for a bit until I saw an image I wanted to play with. I cropped the paper I was working on and drew in the figure.

It's was a little hard to take a picture with the shiny gold paint, but I think I got the essence of it. I'm calling it "The Walk" and it's about 6"x9" with ink and acrylic on paper.

What’s Behind

November 11th, 2010, Comments (26)

For day 11 of Art Every Day Month, I had the urge to play with collage. I put the elements together first, glued them down, and then let it sit for awhile. Eventually, a curve stood out to me that made me think of the curve of a shoulder, so I started sketching and this image came out. I was going to develope it a bit more, but decided to leave it simple. It's about 9"x12".

Tree Visit

November 10th, 2010, Comments (21)

For day 10 of Art Every Day Month, I was out most of the day, so today was a totally spontaneous creation. I simply started painting and let it sit for a bit. I ended up cropping a part of it to draw on top of with ink to create the "Tree Visit" image, which is about 4.5" x 9".
