Creative Every Day Check-In: January 24 – 30

January 24th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 1/24/10 - 1/30/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for January is the Cosmos. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.

Happy Creating!

I love this month’s theme, but can’t seem to tie it into my work. :) I’ll just think and dream about the cosmos anyway.

I’ve made some tiny fairy paintings for a commission. So fun to make. Not very cosmos-ish (cosmic?!) but still v pleased with them.

argh, sorry! First link may now not work so have put new one in. One of those Mondays it seems.

I did a lot of different stuff. I just posted a “review” with a picture and links for all the different things – it was too much for one post.

whew! finally time to get back in the studio! lots of projects- valentine for aids, a print exchange, new art for the gallery & an upcoming juried show- come & take a look!

Saturday I spent a bunch of time writing/creating that speech that I posted to my blog. I took a break from writing and painted with my 11-yr-old and 5-yr-old.

I just entered my first post! I am really excited to be part of this challenge!

This post marks my Julie Unplugged blog’s 1,111 entry. WOW! And it was a #CED2011 post… so perfect…

Soooooooo cold here in the Boston area. Brrrr. A good day to stay inside and do art. That is, of course, after I go get a new battery for the car and replace the tired one that is thinking daily about not starting!

My head is hurting from all the ideas shoving each other for attention. One of my first blog posts explained this phenomenon very well, so I figured I’d share that again while I attempt to calm my mind ;) .

Stay inspired!

I like to believe that spring is in the air, flowers, chickens and hope. Not rain and more rain…the bulbs are trying there best. I have been looking at seed catalogs, spring must be coming.

I hope everyone is doing well. Keep on creating!!!!

Like a few others, the theme cosmos doesn’t seem to be making it into my daily art. But who knows, the month isn’t over yet!!

Posted two photo essays, one that covers a spraypainted piece of mine and another about mural submissions at my school. Click on my name to check them out!

This past week I started a Photoshop class and I enjoy being creative with my pictures. It is a huge learning curve and some things are still quite confusing, but I am enjoying this journey!

I’ve been creating but not able to complete anything.

I am waiting for an invitation this week to decide what shall be created. There is more about this on my Monday intention blog post. However, I spent the weekend with my daughter who is due to have a baby near the beginning of March. She had me do a photo shoot of her. I will be posting some of these later today. It is a bit of a departure from my landscape and seascapes and was a thrill to do. Best of the week everyone!

I worked on my mosaic yesterday. It feels so good to make art.

I am working on a few art and sewing projects but didn’t get pictures yet, but I did get some pictures of my latest cooking adventure – on the wood stove!

Hello! I stalled out trying to think of the cosmos as something separated from myself. I was working on a Ponder about it, but a pipe burst in my home, thus it was quickly saved as a draft while I was dashing to try to turn off the water main! I really felt like posting Sun so here is today’s post…Giggling Maidens.

i never could get my head around this months challenge, but i love your choice for february. thanks.

I have been busy with “Small Stones” all month, but did have time for my crocheting, too, which you will see on my blog.

I was on vacation to Jamaica with my husband last week. My posting has not been regular yet this year. I am participating in Hope Rocks also with Lille Diane http://www.woodstocklily.com/ whom I met through this site. I just love the community here. xoxoxo Terah

A lot of the comments say how the Cosmos theme doesn’t really fit in with their art. Same thing applies to me, but it’s ok. The theme is just meant to keep you on target if you need a form of inspiration. If other things provide that for you, run with it. This week is going to be low in creativity for me. I’ve come down with a cold, so I’m laying low. It’s a good time to catch up on all of your creativeness. I really enjoy being inspired by all of you. Keep it up! :)

I finally finished a painting! I have been so in a rut lately. Starting new paintings, but never finishing them. So, I decided to break out of that, and I completed Insomnia – The dog who couldn’t sleep.

Sunday, January 30, 2011…November Willow, Cosmos Theme for January

I am just know getting around to blog about things I have created a bit earlier.

Leah,

I’ve started a new project, Gratitude5 (I mentioned it to you on Twitter): I am going to do Gratitude Art every day for one year. So I will be creative every day!

You can find them all here:

Wish me luck!

Hugs!

This week, it’s been about gray, black and white, painting on paper and canvas. Addictive (in a good way). http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/nudge-gray.html.

Still drawing away, even in our blizzard!!!
