Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 2

November 2nd, 2012

aedmlogored

Welcome to day 2 of Art Every Day Month! I hope you had a great first day and are feeling as energized and inspired as I am.

I usually post my art at the end of the day, but every morning there will be a check-in post like this one, where you can share your work whenever you're ready to do so.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participant sign up page before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2012 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2012 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

Good morning I’ve been looking at Serema’s sketches and thought you might like to see what goes on at SKETCHBOOK FRIENDS.
it’s a great challenge you have going here.

So excited to be part of this again. I had a blast doing it last year!

I’m still working on Halloween. Today I’m finishing up some sculpting some alien parts and pieces for my costume for a part this weekend. Then maybe I can start moving toward Christmas :)

I hope everything is now restored for you after Sandy. I love the purple tree with the rain falling up. That would be so much more convient then having to rake piles of wet sodden leaves.

I started an oil painting of Catharine, one of the “bandit sisters” as a demo for the oil painting class I’m teaching. I’ll post some pictures of the painting as it progresses soon. Have a creative month everyone!

I know it’s only day two, but I feel like I’m on a roll!

Today I’m working on floral design. I struggle with colors but have fun with it! :D

I had a wonderful time working on a simple, yet intricate, doodle last night. It’s already been fun seeing so many posts with lovely art work! Thanks for hosting AEDM:-)

I am really looking forward to this challenge. It’s the first one I’ve participated. My posts will probably be the “day after” because of my schedule, but I will be doing something every single day.

Very excited to meet new artists and watch them do their thing!

Had so much fun today. Played around with an electric sander and was really surprised at how much I liked the results on my black and white painting.

My first time doing AEDM, was happy that I created 2 sketches, it is a fun process. AEDM is like an inspiring nudge to create art, what I enjoy doing. It is nice to see others work as well, very inspiring! Happy creating!

Having so much fun – thank you Leah :)

So many names I don’t recognize! This is great and I plan to try to get around to everyone at least once! Big task – this is no small gathering.

So happy to be participating again – 5 or 6 years now! So many I’ve lost count (and that has nothing to do with getting old and forgetting! I have files from at least 4 years!)

Thanks for all you do Leah! And for sharing your marvelous creativity with the world!

I’m looking forward to the weekend so I can get my AEDM on!

I am happy to say I have been busy, creative and productive……I finally started my mosaic table and I managed to get my 2nd Thanksgiving Tag done. WooHoo – I love this challenge.

I went back and figured out that I started doing AEDM in 2009, so this is the 4th year of participation. For day #2, I continued colorizing a doodle pattern in my moleskine journal.

This is my first year doing AEDM and already I’m realizing that I need to work on my expectations with myself. I am so happy to be creating again, but I’m also realizing I need to wind back my perfectionism or this is all I’ll be doing for the next month. Anyone else struggle with that?

Hey guys! Great creating today!

Ginger, yes!

When I’m getting caught up in perfectionism, I say to myself “I have permission to make “bad” art.” It helps get me past that stuck place.

Good for you for noticing!

Thank you very much for this challenge. I am very happy of taking part on it.
