Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 5

November 5th, 2012

Welcome to day 5 of Art Every Day Month! It's Monday, the start to a new week. If you've fallen off the wagon, brush yourself off, and start again! Every day is a new day.

I usually post my art at the end of the day, but every morning there will be a check-in post like this one, where you can share your work whenever you're ready to do so.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participant sign up page before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2012 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2012 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

My first time doing AEDM. Thanks so much for creating this. Today I wrote/painted about how AEDM reminds me of November in my garden.

It’s my first day to participate. Yay! I am so excited to be a part of Art Every Day Month. I can’t wait to start checking out what everyone else is posting. Thanks for motivating us all!

I am working on Creative Everyday Challenge simultaneously with Art Every Day Month as well =)I started last month. Happy to be creating again after a little hiatus.

This is my first day! I’m excited and happy to be joining in the fun. I really need this little push and boost right now to keep me focused and creating.

Tori :-)

I crammed 3 days into one due to a full weekend of painting! So glad I joined in again this year!

A new week…a blank canvas. Ahh!

This is just what I’ve been looking for! My first day today :)

So far, so good with AEDM. Yesterday, I worked on my piece so late, there was no natural light left for photographing it! So, I worked a bit more on it this morning and got to take pictures!
I love the community AEDM creates – wonderful people and artists!!

This week’s post is dedicated to the Toronto Women’s Bookstore – an important pillar in the community for women and women writers for 39 years. I reflect on the importance of this bookstore as I begin my own deep writing journey into NaNoWriMo this month.

Thank you so much for this project. I feel I have commited myself to something I love doing.

Happy Monday!! Love visiting you each week!!

Thank you for the challenge Leah – I’m having so much fun!

Really pleased I’m still keeping up at Day 5. It really helps having somewhere to report in everyday. Thanks for setting it up!

Working to keep the Inner Critic at bay.
Thanks!

I am posting every day, but at the end of the day. Only the latest entry (plus my artist of the month post) will be “sticky” at the top so you don’t have to scroll or anything (unless you want to look at previous entries). I only have the last week on my front page. Should be easy to get an overview of my activity and you can read more if you want.

apparently some days are meant to be technology challenged. Thank goodness it wasn’t yesterday! I’ll take it today. The post isn’t what I had in mind but I have no clue how to create what I had in mind so I’ll go with what I got!

For the first four days I struggled with perfectionism and feeling down on myself because there were flaws in my work. Today’s piece, however, actually has visible problems and I am not going to redo it. Perfectionism has been kicked to the curb. ;-)

I made another scarf today! Having fun at this AEDM. Hope I can last through the month though!

I made another scarf today! Having fun at this AEDM.

[...] with that, I wish you all a happy Art Every Day Month – Day 5! Filed under Art, Art Every Day, Art Journal, Joy Journal Project and tagged AEDM, an attitude [...]

love the winter birds, Leah!

I think I’m getting into the swing of it. I think this will be fun!

Wow; there are a Lot of participants in this challenge. Later on today I hope to get a chance to go clicking around a bit to see more of what all everyone else is up to–there are some amazing things going on! Very inspiring.
