Creative Every Day Check-In: February 13-19

February 13th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 2/13/12 - 2/19/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for February is Night, which you can read more about here.

Happy Creating!

The dawn is not far away, but before you can reach the dawn, the dark night has to be passed through. And as the dawn comes closer, the night will become darker. ~Osho

Thank you, Leah, for bringing us all together! Have a wonderful week!

I fell off the wagon for a short bit, but am happy to have climbed back on this weekend. Hope your week is a great one! :>

Hello Leah, hope all goes well your way, it’s Monday, start of another week, fill it with all that inspires, take care.xx

It’s my 4th week now and I find myself really looking forward to Mondays. I never thought that being Creative Every Day will be this much fun!

Hello Leah and everyone.
My interpretation of ‘night’ is a little obscure but I wanted to spread the word about a project to make quilts for severaly abused girls in Romania. I hope anyone interested in quilting (or knitting / crochet) will pop over to mine to have a look.
Have a good week!
Janice.

I love coming here on Mondays and seeing what everyone else is up to. Thanks!

This week’s post is about digging deep to find inner healing through self-love, creativity, and listening to the intuitive voice that always leads us on the right path.

Had a really fun week, including a start at rearranging my studio.

Hoping everyone has a special Valentine in their lives for tomorrow and always!

This post doesn’t have a whole lot to do with night, but I really hope you enjoy! Thank you for creating a space where artists can come together and see what other’s are doing.

I sketched for the first time in years this weekend and I attribute it to this wonderful challenge! It turned out not half bad too :) Thanks Leah.

I finished a new mandala last week. I showed it to my students and they were inspired. I will post it later this week. My most recent post is about this funny weather we’ve been having and includes a drawing of the glaciated region of Wisconsin.

My boys and I made our own valentines for tomorrow (: I’ve been enjoying trying out new things every week. Thanks for the inspiration!

Please come over and have a look! http://andabowloforangestoo.blogspot.com/
I am enjoying checking out all your pages as well, but my computer issues are making it difficult to leave comments any longer than a couple of words!

Participated in my first Valentine’s Hop — so much fun :) Also have lots of art to post this week — my own and my children’s. DD14 has done some amazing drawings and DD9 is doing some Valentine art today :)

One of my goals this year is to improve my drawing skills – sooo, I am beginning what I call “Drawing with the Masters” – my first sketch is complete – sketch by Bronzino my artist of the month for January.

I’m so excited to be writing again during my trip abroad. I’m hoping to start taking some pictures on my DSLR and include them in my blog postings but its nice to start writing again none the less.

What a wonderful theme, night! I hope you’ll visit my site: http://tina-rathbone.blogspot.com/2012/02/christmas-in-february.html.

Hugs and love,
Tina in San Diego
Leah: love your art, as usual.

Glad you are here:)
xx

Happy Valentine’s Day to all you creative souls! (Sorry about the link error on #58. Please feel free to delete it if you are able.)

If you are a Downton Abbey fan come have a laugh.

I set up a DeviantArt account and put up some of my new stuff. I made vector people! And they even look decent ish!

sending love & appreciation to all the creatives!

Just finished a small painting with the “night” theme. I did a demo when teaching an art class to our homeschool group and decided to finish it. You can see the demo image and the finished owl painting, “Night Flight” on my blog. Love to hear comments :-)

My “night” piece this week was a bit of a struggle, but I’m glad I did it. Happy Weekend! Thanks again, Leah!!!

Enjoying the art challenge for 2012 this year but haven’t done well witht he themes so far. We still have a week or two of “night” so I will have to concentrate on theat them for my next piece. Thanks for the challenge!

Man, between bronchitis and preparing to move out of state I am BEAT!! I’m still clicking away every day but got a little behind on posting. Happy to report I am caught up now! Off to check out all your lovely inspiring art :)

I´ve posted a photo and a prayer a few days ago, after doing it, I thought about the “night” theme but metaphorically as prayers are a way to attract light…

Finally posted in right place! Happy creating everybody and have a good pancake day too!
