Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: March 16th – 22nd

March 16th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 3/2/09 - 3/8/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you!

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The totally optional theme for March is dreams. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!!

The creative act is not hanging on, but yielding to a new creative movement. Awe is what moves us forward.

Hi Leah! All my creativity this year seems to really be popping in all the small group stuff we’re doing. I’m loooooving it! I left my Mister Linky above to share with everyone in CED if anyone wants to join blog fest, collaboration, or enter give-away for spot in our next creative coaching group. Hope that’s okay. If not, just let me know.

And even though this was my Crow Moon Board entry, I wanted to leave it here, too — just to share the digital work that seems to be flowing for me these days! I am obsessed with layers and filters! So fun… Anyway, here’s that link:

Zillion trillion miracles to you, Leah!
And to everyone in CED!

i got my studio cleaned up & ready to go this weekend- creatively finding places for all of my stuff! looking forward to a productive week.

Hello all, I’m still doing a doodle drawing a day, just not having time to color them (hubby just retired). I did get the embellishments on Nettie, the Belly Dancer art doll yesterday. I got her and a Swirl drawing posted on my blog yesterday. They are seperate posts. Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful week! :)

I’m painting and writing. Yes, writing. I’m have the absolute most fun writing a serial picture story on my blog – check out my Orient Express Adventure. Another blog had a blogventure day and I haven’t been able to stop :) . I’m traveling all the way to Venice.

And I’m having fun working in abstract and playing with color and texture.

I’ve been doing everything from knitting to digital collage to mixed media art (my first forays into it, and I love it!) to blog storytelling. :-) This is my first time “checking in” on the site here, and I figured I should poke my head in to let you know there is yet another participant out there creating away! LOL! :-) Thanks so much for this challenge…I lovelovelove it!!

Is attending a rubberstamp convention considered being “Creative”? LOL Because that’s what I did this past weekend :) As a matter of fact, I wrote three separate blog posts about the event! Stop by and see what I bought and see all of the wonderful samples I posted for inspiration!!

I’ve been having fun sketching dogs I saw at the local dog park last week… Their sweet little faces never cease to amuse me!

So happy I finally had a chance to make some cards. Now to play with some paper and glue!

I am working on a “dream-like” abstract depiction of the DC Metro in an oil painting! It’s really fun and is pushing me to be really creative!

Is being sick and having dreams that need to be put down on paper considered creative? Sigh, I couldn’t even drag myself out of bed.

Leah,

You continue to inspire. Thanks!

xoxo

Have been working on some commissions, and also collaborating (!) with a photographer on some design ideas. I’ve been working with the book The Creative Entrepreneur and have realised in the last weeks, (thru some of the exercises in the book) that I really want to work on more projects collaboratively… very exciting… I feel very energised!

Coming out of the art closet is possibly one of the most frightening things I’ve ever done. I think I can do this but I’m gasping for air. Sheesh! Who woulda thunk?
Thanks, Leah for creating this site for scaredy cats like me. ;o)

This last week has been all about the development of my virtual mall in Second Life … which has largely been about promoting my shopkeepers.

I had to throw away some of my desire for the perfect “canvas & frame” in favor of actually creating. So one of the things I did was promote the shopkeepers on a blog — A blog that looks less beautiful than I would prefer. But their work got promoted!

And I did manage to create a few objects of my own for sale in Second Life. They are of course “showcased” at the bottom of the blog … without nice marketing words. I ran completely out of words!

I also spent time turning the environment from winter to the beginning of spring. I will share some photos of that work next week.

I look forward to getting to know ya’ll and your work.

Enjoy have fun,
Pam

Hi, Leah and everyone who is reading this and participating in the challenge. I have just finished a post on my blog about what I am working on for the month. Though my original thought was that I would have some wonderfully rich, creative dreams I could capture this month, as usual, my experience has been “unexpected” and has actually fit in perfectly with the theme of DREAMS. It never ceases to amaze me how Spirit provides the best experiences and insights! You can read about it here – http://www.spiritessenceart.com/spirit-essence-art/dreams-or-dreams and see some sketches I have been working on.

As always, Leah, your site and artwork continue to inspire me!

Arlene

Thanks for all the inspiration Leah!

I was just recently inspired by St. Patrick’s day and created a journal page about luck. Added to the Mr. Linky above. :)

Well I have been busy and with the exception of one week in mid February when my son was so sick and I discovered he had pneumonia, I have been creative every day. Sometimes it’s the little things, sometimes it’s the big things. And I’m grateful to you for pointing out that I can do this too in the little things.

Check out my little guy in dreamland on my March 14th blog post. What does a baby dream of, I wonder? Sweet potatoes? Mommy snuggles? Soft pajamas?

Hi Leah and everyone.I’m for the first time here and I am looking for inspiration for the dream challenge.
I am painting and doing photography too. I also have written some “easy” tutorials on my blog. Thanks for the challenge.

so it’s been awhile since i commented for this challenge. i have three posts showing what i’ve been up to. maybe i should have waited until next week to comment in here. :)

I have some art to show and a book giveaway. The drawing will be Friday. Come over and leave a comment to get in the drawing.

xoxo
