Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: September 21 – 27

September 21st, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 9/21/09 - 9/27/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for September is inspiration. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the inspiration theme here.

Happy Creating!

Inspiration is wonderful when it happens, but the writer must develop an approach for the rest of the time…The wait is simply too long. ~Leonard Bernstein

I’ve been inspired by so many things and people the month of September. Inspired to continue to make even MORE atc’s for the October artful journey cruise I’m going on . . . creating fabric collaged pillows, hearts, Composition books and wall hangings – inspired by KC Willis . . . inspired to dress up my flip flops – just because they are so plain and I wanted fancier ones for the cruise . . . inspired to use the art supplies I already have instead of going out and buying more. Lack of money inspired THAT one! LOL And as always, I’m inspired just because you always remind me that I should be creative every day *smiles*

Have a great week Leah and everyone!

Just posted a link to my post…I don’t know why, but on my blog it says the date for the post is 9/20…it’s almost 1 a.m. here, so definitely it’s 9/21 already.

Anyway, just got Illustrator and I’ve been playing around with it. Enjoy!

I’ve been playing with clay and Photoshop, and if I can pull myself away from Photoshop, I am planning to try more encaustics.

xoxo

been playing a bit, when i can find the time. i’m enjoying reading the different guests’ comments on what inspires them. it seems to be, in many cases, focusing less on the end result than on the process. play is good! looking forward to a creative week.

After a busy weekend, I am looking forward to having time to get into the studio again and re-boot the old muse! It’s hard to stay inside on these glorious fall days though…

It’s my Mum’s birthday this week, she will be 82. So, she has come in to stay with me this week. We always do arty things together so I’m looking forward to learning something from her. She is my inspiration. Mum does beautiful artwork with watercolor, oils, pastels and acrylics. I can only aspire to be as good as she is. My darling Mum.

It’s been a month of only bits and pieces “creative time”, but I’ve had inspiration from fellow artists–especially Leah. I love your ideas of fun activities to try.

Right now I’m experimenting with kaleidoscopes…thanks Vicki!

Hi,

Just a short little Photoshop tutorial today.

xoxo

Just started a Monday morning art group for women – what a creative blast!

I’ve been pretty busy, what with back to school stuff, but I’m going to focus on my painting and printmaking at least twice a week. Hopefully more. With two young girls it’s hard to find the time! I love checking out what everybody else is doing, it’s so much fun!

Inspiration! Fantastic! I think we all could use a great big tub of it; even better if it’s mixed with chocolate. :)

I’ve been inspired this month to challenge my readers to stretch themselves a bit; every Tuesday is now Your Turn Tuesday. I post a photo and ask folks to write their own reflections about what they see. I’ve loved seeing their responses; they inspire me to keep on keepin’ on!

It’s the middle of the week, but I just wanted to say to everyone that yesterday marked the 100th day left in 2009. There are now 99 days left to 2009, in fact, there are 99 days left to the decade. 99 days left in the 00’s. The aughts. :)

So if anyone wants to join us, it looks like we’re getting up another 100 in 100 days creative project. I’ll host a sidebar for the participants so we can link up together.

It looks like most people are doing writing challenges, but there are a few art challenges and even a yoga challenge working up here.

It’s a scary prospect for me to write for an hour a day in my novel, but I’m doing it anyway. Even if it’s no hours one day, and 2 hours the next.

I’ve been watercoloring, which is new to me, experimenting and abstracts… http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/afternoon-watercolors.html.

Inspiration–making the ordinary things in life extraordinary. That’s what I’ve been doing with my poetry. It is amazing to see how I have evolved in an amateur Japanese short form poet to a more sophisticated one. Right now, I’m writing many haiku, senryu, and tanka that I am proud of. :)

Just posted my link! :)
