Talking Intuition with Bridget Pilloud

May 7th, 2010

I had the pleasure of speaking with the fabulous Bridget Pilloud this week and I'm so thrilled to be able to share it with you! Bridget is an Intuitive, Healer, Teacher, Writer, and all around awesome person.

Bridget has some great tips and tools to share about how to connect with your intuition in your everyday life and also as you create art! I especially loved her suggestion to "let your brain take a back seat" as you create. And of course the impromptu visit from Leo the cat was fun too! :-) You can listen to the interview below or right-click (ctrl-click on a Mac) to save to your computer and listen to later.

Bridget is planning an exciting year-long Field Expedition to the Energetic Body to start in June! Keep up to date with this and all the other amazing things Bridget is up to at her blog, Voila and follow her on Twitter @intuitivebridge.

I enjoyed our chat very much!

interesting interview. I’ve been thinking about this intuitive process and I’ve realized a couple things – one, I think that the artistic process is largely intuitive, we make choices because it feels right. The second thing is, in most of my life I can “go with my intuition” naturally, but in art there is that part of me that does want to be very much in control of the process. That is the part that usually gives me a headache and makes it all less enjoyable. I’m going to practice getting out of my head.

I know that I over think sometimes when I am creating and it can shut the creative process right down if I’m too uptight. I am anxious to get into the studio in the right frame of mind and practice what Bridget teaches!

Leah and Bridget, thank you so much for this conversation about intuition. It gives me a lot to think about. I found myself taking a lot of notes during this conversation, especially the part about not dismissing imagery that reoccurs, even when you don’t understand it. I’m thinking about the imagery of the ladies I keep painting and my husband keeps asking me why I’m doing it, and why don’t I move on to something else. It makes me feel as if the ladies are boring him in some way. Yet, I can’t stop them from showing up in my work.

I love your blog….a month of intuition? I have to go back and catch up…..I love this topic! Thank you, your intuitive approach to your art is awesome. I love your lantern women. I too am very intuitive AND an artist and love this approach!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful interview! I love the exploration of intuition this month.
