Happy New Year and Intuitive Ink!

January 1st, 2012

Happy New Year fellow creators! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready to dive into a fresh, new year of creativity in 2012. I'm excited to share the journey with you!

If you're interested in joining in the 2012 Creative Every Day Challenge, you can read all about how to participate here and then sign up here. The totally optional theme for this month is New, which you can read all about here.

Intuitive Ink!

Are you doing anything new and exciting in 2012? I'm excited to be teaching a workshop at Mindy Tsonas's wonderful new Wish Studio space in Newburyport, MA on January 28th. If you're in the area, I would love to see you there! The workshop, Intuitive Ink, is for artists of all levels. We'll be loosening up, connecting with our intuition, and creating some of those super fun, very portable, wildly imaginative Inkblots that you may have seen me share here.

Here's an example of a before and after inkblot:

And here's one I did during Art Every Day Month this year:

Want to join in? You can sign up right here. Come play!

If you live in the area and are interested in joining the Wish Studio as a co-op member (and then you can take my class for free!), you can get all the info here.

Happy New Year Leah!! Thank you for hosting this wonderful sight. It has been a huge catalyst for me and my art. I have met so many people and formed this wonderful community through your beautiful energy. xoxo Terah

Thank you Leah! Good luck with the course! I had to run an errand the other day and I went to a local mall very early in the morning and though the stores were closed I went the Barnes and Noble and had a mocha (Yum!) and pulled out books and mags to read while I waited. Well, I pulled out a book by Cathy Johnson on art journaling. Now, I have read so many books and mags about this process – I am not sure why I pulled it but I did. It inspired me to return to that way of getting creative time in. I keep a Mornings Paper Journal – thank you Julia Cameron and that is were I vent and wail and say yippee skippy every morning. But I do like to play with art materials and get some sort of creativity in the works. With the holidays now over that excuse to pull out the materials and have fun is gone, right? Well, no and this is what I have learned from you, Leah and this wonderful creative community gathered here at your site. Thank you. I am hoping that….no I will affirm before you all that this year is the beginning of my ‘creative living’. Thank you for keeping me going. Thank you.

So glad that you are running this for 2012. I have linked up and hope that by doing so I shall be jolted out of my inactivity. I think now we are getting back to normal, I may feel creative again.
Best wishes for the coming year, Leah.
xx

Happy New Year!
I’m looking forward to start a new challenge. I had a great time in November last year and it helped me to feel creative again. Thank you!

Best wishes,

What kind of paint do you use for the ink blots? Fluid acrylics? Watercolor doesn’t work well on the Moleskine pages. This is beautiful inspiration. I have a nearly empty Moleskine I think I’m to use for just this.

That looks like so much fun. I need new ways to be creative. Thanks

Cheryl,

Yes! I use fluid acrylics and inks (Higgins and Liquitex inks.)

I have some of those inks. Thanks for reminding me about them! This will be fun.
