Art Every Day Month, November 19th

November 19th, 2008

Today is the 19th day of Art Every Day Month. Another day in which we can pick up our pencil, paintbrush, pen or any other tool for creating and bring into this world something from within. I'm SO proud of all of you for the amazing work you've done on this creative journey. It thrills me to no end.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post, the previous day's posts and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation! For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the before you use the link widget to share your creations.

The creative act is not hanging on, but yielding to a new creative movement. Awe is what moves us forward. - Joseph Campbell

Great quote. I LOVE Joseph Campbell. He was so knowledgeable about stories and myth and how creativity was woven into the daily life of those who came before us. He once called poets the shamans of today’s world (in an interview with Bill Moyer). Isn’t that delicious?!

awe is amazing. i was walking to the gym this morning and noticing the chilly breeze. it tickled my lips and the hair on the back of my neck. tingles feeled me. awe gives me similar tingles. thanks for the joseph campbell quote. his work is transformative. enjoy the week.

Some days it all seems clear, and other days it feels like wandering blind in the dark… Yesterday was both, today is an unknown. Today it feels harder to walk forward. Today I feel more like art and creativity is all some weird illusion. But maybe everything is? Or maybe it’s all real? Anyway – I intend to keep walking forward; I know everything will change regardless, and I’d rather keep moving. Maybe it will make more sense later. For me, it’s this kind of day that requires the courage mentioned in previous posts…

Leah,

Thank you for your thoughtful and encouraging comments.

these quote are so inspiring! thank you, tammy, for adding to my knowledge of him.

today I posted the photo of the REAL tree I painted and posted about earlier this month. I have a link to it on my blog(below the photo) if you are so inclined to compare…of course, I took alot of artistic license with my tree and nature herself, as I always seem to…and you won’t see any trolls in the photo, unfortunately!

many blessings for a creative day, which for me in california, is hardly just beginning! so many early birds around here… ;~)

I too came across something on my morning walk today that left me in awe. I don’t know what to call it a webflake or a snow web? I took a quick pic and posted it on today’s AEDM – the beginnings of “Hibernation” – nature frozen in time :o )

Thank you Leah for your wonderful words of encouragement and thought provoking quotes that I find on your daily post here!

Once again, I forgot to link to yesterday’s post, yesterday. So here it is now. Also, I finally got a scanner (yes!!!) so the image quality should be better in the future.

today’s doodle is up!
it has been so much fun to meet new artists on the path this month. thank you for this month long community get together
cheers

For some reason I can’t see the widget today. Just me?

Just as well… I don’t have much to share. ;)

Hi I know I have been behind… however, I have posted some of the mixed media art dolls on canvas that I have created for Creative Everyday month. These are on display as part of the Double Visions exhibit being held in at Space 7:10 at Kefa Cafe. Enjoy!

Trying to catch up…. running faster…
I can’t see the widget either, Jul :0(
But I do have a new post today!

Building off Jennifer Lee’s values cards she did earlier in the month – just did one tonight, but it is one that is telling me to slow down and savor my alone time – “solitude and tranquility”….

yay i finally have something to share!!! i’ve been so very busy lately in my studio, but it’s all stuff that i can’t show yet… shop update stuff, gratitude postcard swap stuff, new projects stuff… but finally something i can show you!!!

Finished my snowscape painting last night & tonight I selected a frame.

Yep.. no widget. I wanted to link a new project that I started this evening. It can be found here: http://livingtheartistsway.blogspot.com/2008/11/crossroads-aedm19.html

Maybe I’ll post it using tomorrow’s widget.

Leah, I hope you are snuggling with the hubster rather than worrying about the missing widget or the typepad post editor upgrade! :) Nitey Nite.

Leah, thanks for this amazing opportunity for us to share our work and connect with other artists. There’s a real spirit of acceptance and nurturing. I love it!
