Stripe-scape
November 5th, 2008
Quickie post from me today. I had a monster migraine all day. It's just subsiding and I'm wiped out! I started this one in the morning, doodling in brown ink and using a spray bottle to make the ink swirl in interesting ways. I let it dry and then tonight I went back into it with Pitt brush pens. The ink scribbles reminded me of a Dr. Seuss-like landscape with wild trees and rolling, striped hills. So, this is what came from it. I'm going to rest my head this evening. I have some emails to respond to, but they'll have to wait til tomorrow. See you then!

hope you feel better soon.
I like your art…this looked like a fabric pattern to me.

Wow, this is great. It reminds me of something else besides Suess, too, but can’t think of what.

Leah, I hope you’re feeling better soon. I know migraines and there’s little you can do about them but ride them out. But if you happen to have some Rosemary oil, put some on a cotton ball and inhale it, or rub a dab under your nose and on your temples. It does have a soothing effect. I also tie a bandana tight around my head (it seems to help a little bit). There is an upside of the horrible pain of a migraine…the amazing relief you get to feel when it’s gone.
I like colors (reminds me of the Southwest) and the swirls on this piece.

I like the different textures of the lines and the trees. Must have been a headache day because I had a pretty good one but I avoided migraine levels. Hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

I like this, and what I really like is the idea of just using a really limited palette…cool. It does remind me of Seuss…Hope your headache is gone for good!

This is absolutely stunning. I love those brown and blue hues. You should frame this, but first remember to put your million dollar signature on it hey. Warm regards

Sorry to hear about your migraine! Hope that it’s gone today, they really can wipe a person out.
I really like the Stripe-scape– beautiful color palette and it does look very Dr. Suess-y!

migraines may not be fun, but maybe they closed off or opened up a part of your mind at took you to seussland.

Take care of you. Migraines can pester for days, laying you low long after the headache is gone. Be easy with yourself and your eyes.
Love this piece and it’s movement. Wonderful muted palette too.

Oh Leah, I’m so sorry about the migraine! I hope you’re quickly recovering, be good to yourself today!
I like the bleeding color in your print!

Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear you had a horrible migraine, yesterday. I suffer with them too so know the pain well and how they can completely deplete your energy. Rest up and take things easy.
Secondly, your painting does have a Dr Seuss-like feel to it. Lovely work, Leah!
