Creative Every Day Challenge: February 9th – February 15th, 2009

February 9th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day 2009 participants!

Feel free to leave a comment on this post or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 2/9/09 - 2/15/09.

The use of this widget is not required. It's an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post or posts during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here. And then if you want to sign up, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know (a link to my email is in the upper left sidebar.) When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the Mr. Linky widget.

The totally optional theme February is Words! I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the themes here.

Happy Creating!!

“An artist paints, dances, draws, writes, designs, or acts at the expanding edge of consciousness. We press into the unknown rather than the known. This makes life lovely and lively.” — Julia Cameron

**p.s. In the transition to my new server, I may have lost some of the Creative Every Day participant links. Please check to see if your blog is still listed in the right sidebar. If you don't see it, let me know and I'll add it again. Thanks!**

hi leah, well, it seems my blog is lost from the sidebar, eeek! not sure if I write the address in comments, it will work so won’t bother…

I have posted the 3 paintings I am working on this week…it may be two as I think I have completed my pink fat French sheep painting tonight…I never know for at least several days tho…

blessings to you for a great week!

hiya, leah!

please sign me up for EDC 2009!!! i’m excited. cheers, kel

I’m in! I need to stretch and explore and do something special, not just this week, but always. For now, this week is a great challenge.

Oh I’ve missed sharing here at CED! It’s good to be back :) This week I’m sharing my “Vivid, Vivacious Vision” Mandala! I’m excited beyond description to see my long-held visions begin to materialize .. and I am ready!

Have a splendid week everyone :)

Leah, hope it is okay the way I posted my link in Mr. Linky this week. I’m knee deep in hosting the heART events this week, including the Blog Fest. I wanted to invite all the CED participants to play along if they wanted. I’ll be doing a Valentines Day post sharing all my heART playing and featuring links of participants own heART posts on their blogs. Thanks for keeping us all inspired!
miracles,

hi all! i played a word game- then turned it visual by finding photos for the words…..visit my blog for the outcome. am still challenged to mesh the 2 into an art piece. maybe by month’s end….. thanks for the ongoing inspiration!

This is way too much fun for me! *hyperventilating* I’m still in the playing phase. I usually fit words into my art and I am working on a larger piece that I’ll share sometime this month.

Blessings!

Thanks for the suggestion to just link to the blog instead of a static page. I never know what to put, since I am trying to work everyday and don’t know which to choose.

I combined two themes and “played” with “words”to make a new banner.

I’ve been in motion – I’m currently working on a totally new art piece. Very different for me. I’ve kept up my weekl posts. And I feel as if there is something waiting to emerge.

this week it is knitting http://foxyartstudio.blogspot.com/
…oh! and I also experimented with putting one of my designs on a mug and a notebook at Cafe Press

The CED challenge is *so* inspiring…sign me up!

Yep – the quote is at it again, as I “press into the unknown.” Julia Cameron is a good bet, though – half her words seem to apply to me most days.

Thanks, as always, for posting this and giving us this chance to network.

Hi everyone,

I am seeing so much wonderful creativity here and and elsewhere. I have found many wonderful blogs through the links on the CED2009 participants blogs.

Still having fun and using words!

Well speaking of words-I have a couple of interviews that will be featured this month, the first of which is already up on the Carolina Mixed Media Guild blog (I’ve been a member of the guild for a little over a year, and it’s been one of the best things I’ve done for my artistic endeavors–making that connection with others who have such diverse talent and backgrounds has been truly inspiring. I love having so many mentors in my circle!

Then next interview is a little different and going to include a cool giveaway!! Stay tuned for that :)

Have a great week Leah!!! (((Loved your interview that you podcasted last week…so cool hearing your voice and have you talk about your inspiration and processes))!

Hi, Leah! I’ve sent my work to participate in this month’s challenge. I hope you enjoy it; its only my second page in art journal. I played with the word FOCUS (FOCO, in Portuguese), which is my word for 2009.
You can read my blog using Google Translator (Google Tradutor) in the top of the sidebar. It’s not perfect, but you could understand something.
Thank you for your inspiration!

I always enjoy coming here and looking around at all you’ve been up to–Love the moon painting–I’ll have to watch and see when moons show up in my paintings, thought I’m partial to slivery pieces of moonlight!

30 seconds “art”. :P

I am running late this week but I finally have my post up with a recap of last week.

Today I posted little watercolor of a bright red bell pepper. Wishing everyone a happy valentine’s day Saturday!
Christine

OHH, it’s been so so long since I posted, BUT I have been faithful to the challenge and the cause! I have been creating!! Yes, I think everyday, maybe miss only once or twice, but I’m sure I did some kind of creative rig-a-ma-role even then! Thanks for looking!

Been busy creating my studio. Yes, you heard me right. A studio. I finally accepted the fact that I deserve a creative space. This is HUGE for me.

Glad to be back.

After posting nearly every day of January, I’ve slacked off a big, but not because of inactivity. I think I’ve just about wrapped up a painting that sat neglected for a while & I posted it along with another journal entry.

For IMT: Little Girl With A Blue Lace :)

Made stamps with FIMO polymer clay & stamped cotton fabric… http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/fimo-fabric-stamps.html.

This is a sketch dump of a number of sketches because I’ve been too busy to post them! Aiee!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.

I revised two paintings, one to make it more PLAYFUL and one to make it more cheerful. http://imagik.blogspot.com/2009/02/2-new-paintings.html

Just trying to spend some time being happy and fulfilled and less controlling and filled with angst, while I am painting. I had thought I would have so much more time to paint this year, and then the year started out with a bang and my design work took over my life. Now I am making the time to paint, and trying to be at ease with the creativity, no pushing, no miss bossy pants, no judging, just create.

Before my web disconnect once again…

Insomnia last night, so I painted and drew. Then made a painting from my drawing.

Did several art journal pages, trying to use a bit of my own creations a collage elements… http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/art-journal-3-hearts.html.
