Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: April 20th – April 26th

April 20th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 4/20/09 - 4/26/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for April is color. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!!

The whole world, as we experience it visually, comes to us through the mystic realm of color. Our entire being is nourished by it. This mystic quality of color should likewise find expression in a work of art.
~Hans Hofmann

p.s. Want some more support on your creative journey? Join me on a gremlin-busting, playful Art Picnic happening on Saturday, April 25th!

Color! What a co-incidence! This past week bright colors, happy colors have jumped onto my palette. Maybe I’ve been influenced by spring and natural color coming back into my landscape.

A poem, with a composit for an illustration.

Came up with a pretty creative give-away on my blog. Well, at least I think it’s pretty creative :) So far, nobody has been able to figure it out. Stop by and see if you can solve the mystery – the prize is listed on the post as well.

Have a wonderful week ahead!! cyber hugs & kisses

I have been posting drawings with color themes and quite a bit of color. Thanks for this opportunity.

Hi All! Still doing a doodle drawing a day, or trying. Not getting much else done creatively right now. Trying to balance all the changes in my life right now, which is a creative feat in itself, especially this week with hubby sick. Hope you all have a good and creative week. :)

Hi Leah. I had posted earlier in the week but thought I would repost with the correct url.

I just posted another painting I started today and I thought I was branching out from my usual colors, blue and red, but now that I look at my painting it is starting to look very similar, haha. I didn’t even realize. It’s funny how we gravitate naturally to certain colors that speak to us. I will certainly try to build on those colors for this landscape painting, and continuing to be bold with my palette!

Hi Leah,
I just wanted to thank you for doing this. In the last two months I’ve found it has really helped me to focus on developing myself creatively in some way. The theme is just a starting point – it then takes whatever course it needs to – and it’s interesting to see how other people develop it too. I do still feel somewhat in awe of the artistic talent of the other participants, of course…
I’ve been spending time this month in my ‘digital darkroom’ and have now even progressed from there to manipulating my images using Corel Draw, although I really don’t know what I’m doing!
Thank you so much for the starting point and the community.
Janice.

Hi everyone. I just posted to my blog a personal character map I created where I experimented with colors I don’t normally use. I am glad I did too, because I do like lots of colors, and it is great to see what other color combinations work in addition to my favorite ones.

I have also been painting angels and coming up with some different watercolor techniques. I haven’t posted my latest ones yet. I may come back here later this week and tell you about them, after my next blog post.

Arlene

I think this has to be one of the most creative months I have had in a very long time-thank you for sharing it along with me…

I am working on two air dry clay sculptures.

Spring has got me feeling creative. I took a shot at sketching freehand with photoshop :) Fun!

I’m on creative overload this week….getting ready for a show. I’ve done so much I’ve made myself sick (literally) over it all! BUT, the good news is, that I have some really cool pieces completed. Check out my last blog post for a peek. Pray that my sore throat and body aches go away before Saturdays show!!!

Medusa. I colored her green, then took it back. Just made her woods green.

Photography used to be my passion. I still love it, but seldom make time for it.

These pix certainly fit the “color” theme for April.

Hope you like them.

xoxo
