Creative Every Day Check-In: May 23 – 29

May 23rd, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/23/11 - 5/29/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is Big.You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.

Happy Creating!

Wow, what a BIG couple of weeks for me creatively! Painting, and yesterday, drawing, are expanding my creative range.

Leah, Thank you so much for the guest post on the Liberate Your Art postcard swap – I’ve met my BIG goal of 200 participants and then some! There is still room for all who want to participate, if anyone wants to join in.

Hi Leah, thanks for hosting!

Hi little “Mommy” Hope all is going well with that bundle of joy. Just picked up 9 pieces from an all woman show in Scranton and planning a big solo show for June in a local cafe. Trying to think big!!

on seeing it TOO big: Lessons of the big fat flu…

hope you’re doing well and enjoying this magical mommy time!

Just finished altering some journals with my DD13 :) We’re going BIG by participating in a missions trip (so out of my comfort zone!) to El Salvador where we will hopefully be fulfilling a BIG DREAM of meeting our Compassion Canada sponsored child!!!! Very excited! You can see the journals and read a bit about our “story” on my blog if you’re interested :)

Reflections this week are on learning to accept change and what is, particularly in my relationship, through one of the greatest teachers on the planet – the moon.

Wishing you and Annabelle well!

Going Bigger & Bigger with the size of my encaustic paintings. I’m liking the larger size.

Loving the baby pictures. *smile*

Am hoping your entries will inspire me! I am exhausted!!

I created a new website for my art last week – yay! You can visit it at kathleenhendrick.com. That took most of my time so I only worked in my altered book. I had fun though and posted some new pics. Have a wonderfully creative week.

I’m back in my studio, creative juices flowing.
Hope all is well, Leah. Little mamcita. xox Terah

Hallo again Lea. Firstly congratulations on your New Addition to the family. I signed up once with creativeeveryday but it was 2 years ago, and I failed. This is my second attempt. As a trained artist and graphic designer my whole life was filled up with all sorts of art and creative actions but this is first time from a long time when I am creating purely just for fun and relax and this is really something BIG for me!

For me thinking BIG means letting go of my sens of obligation and allow myself to be creative just for fun and to please myself not the others for a change

I had a t-shirt made for my son-in-law from one of my textiles designs–check it out on my blog! it is a design I created from the graffiti tags in my hood….

Creative week beginning to play with a new digital tablet. A definite learning curve. Great to explore new things. The sun is starting to shine :)

I’ve spent days photographing birds … it’s that time of the season here … enjoy these little wet ones …

I cropped a photograph my daughter took to create the BIG sky image I was going for.

Waving hello to all my CED friends! The last few months have ultra busy preparing for shows and then participating in them over the last 6 weeks. I’m also working on a new online class and a few articles for magazines. See my latest article out in Arful Blogging! woot woot! Here’s a picture set on flickr of one of my recent shows in Dunwoody, Ga:

Hope to get back into posting regularly again now that most of my shows are done until the fall :) Have a great rest of the week!

Back in the studio after 2 weeks of travel. Feels good!

New photos with beautiful color! My BIG babies. Love it! Loving all the guest posts! Yummy Inspiration.

I’ve been playing around with a new art supply and having fun. Nothing BIG as I don’t seem to follow the challenges at least not yet. Not sure why but its ok, it is what it is..

Finally did a bunch of art journal pages, with the first focusing on my lack of focus… I’m getting overwhelmed with the sheer volume of artistic wonder on the web… http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/its-all-too-much.html.
