Creative Every Day Check-In: August 15 – 21

August 15th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 8/15//11 - 8/21/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for August is Red, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

Woohoo the first to comment! Please come and see my original design, a Bookmark Necklace.

This week’s post is about honouring the sacredness of women-only space, under the light of the full moon.

A post about the light..and how fleeting it is:

Have a great week everybody!!!

I’ve started the week writing a blog post about historical inspiration prompted by our trip out yesterday. Now my head is full of history, the stories and beautiful things we saw. I’m sure along with ‘Red’ this experience will be influencing my creativity this week…

Wishing you all a Happy Creative week!

Kat Xx

So many things in the works — but I’ve posted a few things recently. Would love it if people stopped by and left a comment to show they’d visited :)

Check out my newest painting entitled Lava Flow inspired by our red theme! It uses encaustic and red copper color! It is posted on my blog at:

Have a happy, creative week!

Today is the first day of my part time work schedule, in support of more time for creativity – yay!

I did a red painting last night, and then found out about the red theme!

the theme of mine is READ (as in storytelling) and it has a healthy sprinkle of red!

red = revolution!

I am a lifelong fan of Red … So this month has been brimming with inspirations! I blogged today about living Red! :D

Hi!
I’ve just added my name to the Creative Every Day list and looking forward to visiting your blogs. Thanks to stargardener for directing me here!

annie!

I found these vintage quilt blocks. This was my favorite project to date. Something spiritual about finishing someone else’s hand stitched quilt. xoxox Tearh

Beginning with red is so inspirational for me. Red was my first favorite colour. Using red to express my emotions has proven to be quite healing and enlightening. Please come see what I’m creating.

It feels good to be back. I thought I had missed a month of blogging, but it seems actually it was two months!
I’ve begun to paint trees as well as photograph them. I am certainly diving into the imagery as an exploration of what is deep within me.

Red has been showing itself in my paintings as a color of intensity and life blood. I am noticing much about my connections to the Earth and the Divine.

HI! I’m back to work starting today and still working on doing something creative everyday. In the current post I’m sharing a sweet pair of pillow cases that I just completed a few days ago. I hope that my post stirs up some creative thoughts for you.

I love what everyone else has been doing! Cheers All!

A little play with watercolor and digital, all about love….with a little pinky red :)

I haven’t posted anything for a couple of months, but I have been immersed in a creative process. I will probably post something from that soon – there has been Red involved.

Meanwhile, I’ve just added some summer flower photos. I had a lot of fun playing with light this time.

I’ve just posted again, this time on the “Red” theme. One evening last month this image came to me and would not leave until I had painted it!
