Creative Every Day Check-In: July 16 – 22

July 16th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 7/16/12 - 7/22/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for July is Round, which you can read more here.

Happy Creating!

Come out of the circle of time, and into the circle of love. -Rumi

This week’s post takes me further into the effects of recent life change. A letting go, a stripping away, a giving up of pieces of an old life and identity.

Good morning everyone! I was finally able to spend some time in my studio, and was fairly productive as well. We had a fierce storm that washed away the terrible heat, and made everything new again! Have a wonderful week.

Hi Leah and everyone,

I’ve been a bit busy with taking care of household, pets, farm animals and such since my husband had a horse accident and is out of commission for a while with a fractured knee, elbow and broken ribs. Won’t have much time to work on artwork, but will be working on finishing my workshop area for our studio tour on Aug. 11th & 12th and will have an exhibit of my artwork of the Ker Church area Sept. 9th. Have a creative week and rest of the summer!

Having so much fun with art these days! Finally succeeding in being “creative every day” :)

BTW, Leah — I was in your gallery the other day for the first time in a long time because a friend asked me for links to my favourite mixed media artists, and, well, you’re one of them :) While there I noticed a picture you’d painted of a woman lying on the ground near a bare tree and I think water. I was blown away because a couple of weeks ago I did a journal spread (”Joy Journal Project: Quiet”) with images that were strikingly similar (in concept, though not quality! I only dream of being as skilled as you one day!). I hadn’t seen your painting before, so it wasn’t even a subliminal influence! LOL I thought it was cool, though, that there were such significant parallels in imagery :)

A post about a painting about fearlessness. :) xx

Summer greetings, happy painting and a wee bit of sparkle!

This week was a lot of needlework. A little embroidery kit, crazy quilt pouch and 2 cards (no needlework on the cards).

Love the luminosity

Thanks for this Leah!

I’ve been playing around a lot lately. Enjoy Terah

Two bloggers inspired my blog post today. I tried to connect it to round but really couldn’t. :)

Finally, finally, I’m back to art making !

love it
