Ooh, can I join in? Does writing a novel count? I’m coming into the home stretch of the first draft (rewriting and editing will take ages as well, but I’m concentrating on finishing this draft at the moment) and I update daily with my word count and progress …

How about one month’s worth of creative STUFF?! I have been forgetting to post but remembering to be creative.

Are you ready, are you ready for some vintage lovliness?

Instead of cutting things apart or sewing this week, I’ve been working on photographing and cataloguing a bunch of my vintage clothing:

I’ve been creative, not as much painting as I would like. Been doing lots of nesting – what I call comfort work – when life feels out of control – organize something anything:)

I thought I’d share the weekend retreat my writers’ group just enjoyed. http://greenishlady.blogspot.com/2008/03/that-writers-weekend.html
Finally… wrote some new poems! Made some SoulCollage cards. Invented the item that’s going to make my fortune!

This is probably all the “creative” I’m going to get done this week so here she is:

here is my weekly creative check in…
lots of starts,
no finishes…
:0)

{but i remind myself,
you have to start
in order
to finish…}

I’ve been playing all over the place this weekend, soldering and buying stained glass for potential charms… got lots of projects started this week. Lots of going out and buying supplies, wandering around odd stores. My favorite :)

I did a small watercolor experiment, played with alcohol based inks on paper to use for card art, did a process shoot with the same ink that will get to my blog in the near future, starting to work up a plan for watercolor class to teach…
Does anyone have a creative way to make tax preparations fun? ;-)

Made 3 door plaques for a commission, got in a bunch of beads and plan to exercise using my birthday gymn gift. Made up cards and prints with photos of birds I took while in florida and scrounged up some of my “art” photos from the Outer Banks and printed them up to and got them out to my local gallery. Almost have a kiln load ready to fire. Might even get a 2D painting done before I have to load in for my show on Friday.

I have been suffering that pre-trip homesickness and jitters that comes along before every trip, so the creativity has suffered a bit. I am preparing, though, hoping to keep a travel sketchbook while I am gone, so it has been a good excuse to comb the art stores, buying supplies.

I had fun incorporating cocoa as a mixed-media painting “ingredient.”

I put a new blog banner up! I have also done a new block print but i don’t have any digital proof just yet.
