Creative Every Day Challenge: February 2nd – February 8th, 2009
February 2nd, 2009
Welcome, Creative Every Day 2009 participants!
Feel free to leave a comment on this post or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 2/2/09 - 2/8/09.
The use of this widget is not required. It's an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post or posts during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.
To find out more about Creative Every Day 2009, check out the details here and then if you want to sign up, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know (a link to my email is in the upper left sidebar.) When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required!) If you start posting links on the Mr. Linky widget without letting me know that you're participating, I may not see that you're new, so do let me know! Also, if you notice that your blog is not in the sidebar and you thought you had signed up, let me know, so I can get it up there as soon as possible.
The totally optional theme February is Words! I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the themes here.
Happy Creating!!
I learned...that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic striving, but it comes into us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness. --Brenda Ueland
**p.s. In the transition to my new server, I may have lost some of the Creative Every Day participant links. So, please check to see if your blog is still listed in the right sidebar. If you don't see it, let me know and I'll add it again. Thanks!**

It was another productive week for me. I made it through the art journal every day of january project which was a satisfying accomplishment. Lots of new posts up at my blog plus a give-away.

Thank you Leah for organising creative every day, although it is no effort to create every day I have been doing it for years, it has given me the incentive to journal every day Janet

This has helped & inspired me no end! It’s fantastic )
I actually have idea’s I’d like to try for the February theme of ‘words’. There is so much to explore via this blog & those of the many fabulously talented participants – that before I know it a couple of hours has passed.

I tried something different this time. I drew a self portrait for a swap and then learned that the receiver preferred digital. I scanned the drawing/painting and then added text and other collage items in Photoshop.

I do something creative every day anyway, but I’m enjoying the CED challenge a lot, and I’m faithfully keeping a daily creativity log. Plus I’m learning so much and being inspired by all of you. I’m really glad I joined this year.
What I have posted on my blogs is from the past week (I’m a little behind, we had a death in the family), but I’m going to add some new posts/pictures for this week in the next couple of days if nothing happens, so I went ahead and added my name to the list. Have a happy creative week all!

This is the perfect theme for me this month! This month is all about FINALLY putting my magazine together! Stay tuned.

I finally managed to figure out how to add pictures and links to my blog…creative problem solving at its best! (Don’t roll your eyes at me! I am new to this!)
And the post the other day was all about winning the cover of Bead Trends magazine for January 2009 (of course it is Feb so it is no longer on the newstand!)
And my daughter made me the most beautiful earrings…she is 7 and already shows a talent that took me almost 4 decades to hone! I have convinced her to try to sell them…it has become a great math lesson for her!
This week I am working on planning her 8th bday party, a Reverse Slumber Party, complete with a face paint artist and maybe even a professional photographer (the photos of the fun will be her gift and allow me to enjoy the party!).
Enjoy the day!

I am looking forward to exploring words this month. I’m also working on getting my groove back and getting BACK to my words. Revising my novel and I haven’t written for 5 days! Oh no!
Maybe I should do some housekeeping to facilitate the revising, like getting my printer properly hooked up.
I’m also looking to review my progress so far on the Portfolio Project, to see how far I’ve come and how far I still have to go.

I’ve been working on some issues of my own. Thank you Leah for talking about The 12 Secret of Highly Creative Women. I’ve started reading that book. It helps.
Lately, I’m just taking it easy, practicing sculpting with modeling clay.
P.S. Leah, I mentioned you in my blog today. Check it out!

Oh boy – my art so far in February isn’t about words, nor does it include words, but it’s generating words…

I have dropped out of sight for a while, thanks to the transition from Paris to My U, but I’m hoping to be back, permanently. Back to writing, back to work, back to creating every day.

I can’t believe it myself, but I have kept up with this challenge. It’s all in the interpretation of course, but amongst other things, I have a self imposed project to take a photo every day of my son, knowing how much they change and how quickly, I will be able to see how he was at almost-six to almost-seven. I can hardly even say the number seven without flipping out. I really want to freeze-frame him right where he is now.
