CED Challenge Check-In: July 27th – August 2nd

July 27th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 7/27/09 - 8/2/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for July theme is self. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the self theme here.

Happy Creating!

Well, it looks like this week as well as the next and maybe even the NEXT, I will be working on close to 200 artist trading cards for the tim holtz/wendy vecchi cruise I’m going on in October.

And in honor of the theme for this month which is “Self”, I have started this project so that “self” will not be overwhelmed or stressed by waiting until September to make them! LOL *smiles* Stop by and take a look at my recent 2 blog posts to see my “theme” for the atc’s.

Have an art-filled week ahead!! xo sherry

well im feeling pretty fine about my most recent doodle which i almost abandoned at the bottom of the ocean. this was my first major foray into combining my digital and non digital realms. an experiment that worked for me.

I just finished my first acrylic collage canvas. Yea!!! I did it as a kind of challenge to stretch myself and to try something new. It was a lot of fun to compose and now I want to create another one. I’m so excited!

Hi Leah! I’ve posted 3-4 new posts of doodles in the last few days on Moxie. I’m getting ready to do some different things. Hopefully, I’ll get some of them ready to share with you in the next few days. I so enjoy looking at all of your entries and reading your posts and comments.

Hope you all have a great week! :)

I spent a bit of time with my almost 6-year-old granddaughter this weekend in collage play.

Such fun!

Today’s Creative Every Day post may be my most ridiculous yet. I have created ultra-consistently this Summer and decided since my daughter is at camp I would create an Intensive Writing Workshop with the theme of CAMP and so, I figured we have to have a camp song… and, well, I had to blog about it.. so amidst all my journaling, collaging, painting… I am teaching… um… music? Tee hee hee… and having a BLAST!

Sketch and Collage :)

Hi everyone!
I’m about to visit my grand daughter and we love to paint together. It gives me the chance to experiment with colors, patterns and whatever comes from the brush.

I’ll be thinking of you all, as we join together and find our inner selves through art.

Kerry.

gearing up for the coming show… seems to be what it’s all about here this week :) miracles! k-

Just some random sketches:)

Ah! Melia @ Be Mused Art, I cant see your post:( I tried with IE8 and Firefox. 406 error.

I got brave and am posting some self portraits. Come see…

I started a mixed media project-actually on canvas rather than just paper–which is big and very different for me–I am having so much fun w it….thank you for the confidence you inspire…

Finally dared to play with a bit of melted wax.

Not completely satisfied with the results, but I am planning to remelt the wax and rearrange until I like it better.

Love ya, Leah

Posted more jewelry and a little art project I did. Hoping to get some painting done this week. But first I need to catch up on birthday cards.

new art on my blog : http://foxyartstudio.blogspot.com/
very busy as a (creative) chef this summer–so not getting a whole lot of visual art done–but taking many photos (I’m in Alaska) for later inspiration…

Stick Doll :P

I am still doing the 100 in 100 Challenge with Rowena, so am creating / painting every day, AND I am participating in Kathryn’s (Collage Diva) Vision Journaling workshop. However, I have also taken on a little job as columnist on http://www.HandmadeNews.org (the Item of the Day Department), so am writing a lot more too! Me, a writer! Who would have thought? Because of that and a few other commitments, I just am not blogging every day like I had been. I have a few more paintings I have done but haven’t blogged about yet. I am hoping that after today, I can catch up in my blog.

I’ve had incredible creative energy since returning from a long trip, it’s like madness! I’ve been working on a series of fabric-like doodles in little blocks of time each day. Here’s the first: http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/vividrainbowdoodles-v11.html.

Sorry to have posted two so closely together, but my first post of the day was pretty raw and edgy (maybe a little too honest), so I played awhile to get over it and am happy that I did.
