Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: October 19 – 25

October 19th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 10/19/09 - 10/25/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for October is connect. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the inspiration theme here.

Happy Creating!

Not all of us are painters but we are all artists. Each time we fit things together we are creating - whether it is to make a loaf of bread, a child, a day. ~Corita Kent

it’s all photos lately… some of which will incorporate into mixed media. been lucky enough to connect with nature- love this time of year, and the weather is beautiful- it’s hard NOT to be inspired!

With the expert guidance of my friend and local (batik & watercolor) art celeb, I’ll be choosing the pieces that will be featured in my (November) art show on Wednesday and she will be pricing them as well. I’m also exploring setting up my own website to market my art. Any input would be appreciated from all you experienced gals!!

changing things up now as I try to get ready for nanowrimo and start writing again. I’m outlining and working on characters for the next week or so. On my blog, I’m actually posting chapters from an altered book I did 6 years ago. Although I did just think that maybe I could do some paintings to help me work out my story. Hmmm. I wonder if that could work.

Hi Leah and everyone, my linked post is about connecting two photos – specifically it’s a tutorial for replacing a boring sky with a more interesting one – but once you know how to do it you could use it for more than just skies. If anyone’s interested, there’s also another example of how I’ve used the technique here: http://postcardsfromwildwood.wordpress.com/2009/10/18/kings-college-totland/

Leah!
Thank you for your email with book suggestions, you are very kind to respond. I will look into getting the books that you recommended, meanwhile I went to Borders yesterday I got Creative Awakenings by Sheri Gaynor and it has a lot of exercises that look like a lot of fun. I like your statement about just having fun with art, thanks again.
I uploaded my latest work to my blog.
Talk to you again soon : )

wedding creativity and swatching for fun…http://foxyartstudio.blogspot.com/

Lately I’m just learning to block things out that get in the way of my creative work. Dishes pile up. Laundry sits unfolded. Dinner become a replay. But, oh, the greeting cards…They are just pouring out of me. I’m connecting to “letting go,” and I’m getting a lot in return. I feel more inspired as I create every day to meet this challenge. Thank you Leah.

I had a great weekend… avoided the flu (clear of all symptoms) worked on a scrapbook for my daughter, took some great fall pictures of my trees and taught myself how to make a mask in my photo software and a few more things…

Leah, I am just loving the theme this month. It has really been carrying me through a creative wave. Thanks for all your awesomeness and inspiration!!!

this week is a play week. enjoying and creating and doing whatever i want to do. so far i am knitting and art journaling, drinking tea and listening to music and loving every second of it.

What a perfect theme – connection. My post is about women who connect once a week to paint. Art Therapy at its finest!

Howdy everyone! I worked with ATC’s for the first time. What fun in a small format! Please come by and take a look – feedback is welcomed!

Hey everyone! I’m connecting with the tidy freak inside of me and it’s been a wonderful cleansing time.

In last week’s post I declared that I would tidy up all unfinished projects. I have really surprised myself and it’s been such a constructive time.

I credit CED and all of you lovely creative creatures that gather here to inspire me.

Hi Leah,

I’ve posted more digital art and hope to do some “by hand” sketching today.

xoxo

Poetry and collage, meet… with a little prompting thrown in for good measure.

I am so grateful for this activity and the possibility to share it. I find I do much better with my art when I know others will scoop it up and hopefully glean from it.

I’ve been blogging about my crafts for awhile I look forward to seeing what every one else is doing through this challenge! I probably won’t get to start visiting blogs until next week (swamped right now) but I look forward to getting to know you guys!

The theme is perfect… I am trying to reconnect with my creativity, after a somewhat difficult time.

Sorry, the first one of these two is a link on today’s post that I forgot was on the clipboard and I didn’t notice it when I pasted it.

The second “Vicki” is a link to today’s post. There are a couple of mosaics that I recently bought that you might enjoy looking at.

Leah,

I am so thrilled to have won your AEDM Survival Guide.

Thank you so much,

xoxo

Hey Leah,

I’ve been away for a week, so I have only just posted my returning blog entry yesterday.
I have just joined in for yesterday and today seeing as this week ends on the 25th October.

You are doing an excellent job here as always.

Hi Leah,

As promised, I have posted a tutorial for making word art in Photoshop CS3.

xoxo

Hi Leah,

I sent you a separate email commenting on your fantastic blog. I’d like to join

Hi Leah,

I’d sent you a separate email after discovering your blog. I’d like to sign up for CED. I don’t yet have a blog dedicated to creative work, so for now my name will be fine.

Thanks,
Kathy Jordan

This is great. I did it last time and happy to join again. Should be fun!
