Creative Every Day Check-In: July 19 – 25

July 19th, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 7/19/10 - 7/25/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for July's theme is Life. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with June's theme here.

Happy Creating!

I had fun this week trying to draw a few new things and using new mediums!

Hello everyone! I’m on a real creative roll right now and have been dipping into all sorts of crafts and activities, but just to keep with the Life theme the post I’m linking through is about the garden. Click on the ‘Home’ button to look at some of the other stuff instead… Wishing you all a good week,
Janice. x

I haven’t been posting my creative endeavors online for a while now, but that should change soon when I finally get my new art blog up. Looking forward to sharing it with you all.

life slowed down enough this weekend for me to make some art. yay! of course, there are photos (some artistic) of the things that have been keeping me busy too….

I’m working on a creativity vision statement banner — will have it posted soon — maybe even later today:)

Loved the theme for this month. I finally had a chance to make something that related to the theme. I will be participating in the Sketchbook Project this year and am excited to share my experience with you all. Happy creating!

I didn’t do much art last week but I got away for a few days for my birthday and had lots of fun! The getaway refreshed my mind and gave me some new ideas to work on. Have a great week everyone!

Had a big creative day yesterday. It’s interesting how some days are so full of making, and then other days nothing comes. Sometimes things need time to come to fruition. Sometimes life takes over and there’s no opportunity for creating. Ah, life.

i’m in a great big wave of creative energy. i’m putting the finishing touches on my new art room and getting sooooo inspired by my new space.

I am in Connie’s “BIG: Fearless Painting” class and have a blast painting every day! In addition to that, my daughter and I completed our 3rd painting for a charity art a-thon and I finished a altered story book for my daughter. I love coming here and reflecting upon my week because I am usually so busy thinking about what I want to do next, I forget to celebrate what has happened!

Where are those lazy days of summer going? :)

Kind of a rough week with the loss of our beloved dog, but she had a life well lived so that makes it easier to deal with. I still found time to be creative with photos, paint and work with a new piece of photo editing software.

thanks for hosting this challenge so we have a place to connect with other bloggers and share our work with a wider audience. you are apprecitated. thank you.

Posting a photograph every day It’s been very happy-making to see how many click through from here, and I thank you all!

Just finished a few sketches of all the homes I have lived in. It was a nice walk down memory lane and a fun project. Thanks Leah!

well I am working on these fun bright children’s paintings for my grandson’s 2nd birthday–something to brighten up his bedroom–but I can’t put them up online until after his b-day–in late August (or I would spoil the surprise ;-) –I am having fun with them,though..and I do have some new posts up on my blog with other creative endeavors…but right now I am obsessed with these 3 mixed media paintings…

just discovered the challenge and am looking forward to getting more creative in my life.

I have been trying to live more mindfully and not have too many irons in the fire so to speak. I did most of a painting on Saturday and took some photos everyday. :)

I’m having a great time lately, playing around with different Muse rituals and exercises. Lots of exciting things coming up!

My last few weeks have been extremely focused though also lots of fun. I have co-host an open of the Art Councils summer show and had two of our children get married. Now I will start focusing on my solo show prep for September but for the moment… things can be a little more spontaneous. I have a canvas on the easel and a painting in mind… may get to the underpainting by later today or at least by tomorrow.

thank you as always Leah… your blog has become a tremendous touchstone for my creative focus.

I’m kinda late to the party this week… boy, having to work for income really cramps my style, HA! I should have been prepping my post over the weekend, but the weather was too darn nice to sit at the computer for even a minute. I was so busy experiencing “life” as the theme, I neglected blogging about it ;-)

Boy I can relate to Henniemavis’s post above… what a week. Trying to be calm… not let it all get to me. Love the creative part of the week….

Sunprint dyes add color to my life!

Hi,
What a great blog! I tried to sign up, but not sure if I did it right. I am creative every day, so I figured I’d join in your community. Thanks!
peace,
Jennifer
