Apple Tree

November 19th, 2010

For day of Art Every Day Month, I did a simple drawing with Inktense pencils. The little owl snuck in at the last minute. I'm thinking if I have a girl, I might do an owl nursery.

Tonight, the hubster and I are off to see the Harry Potter movie and I'm so excited!

I hope your weekends are brilliantly creative and fun!

p.s. If you pre-order my 2011 calendar by Thanksgiving (right around the corner!) you can get a personal drawing on your birthday! Get yours here.

Oh, this may be my favorite so far. Love.

This one feels a little more carefree “oh the apples are spilling, that’s ok I’ll just dance and float here!” Love it!

For one moment there I thought you were going to tell us you planned on calling your child ‘Owl’. I was relieved you’re just going to decorate with them! This painting would be a delightful addition to the owl-themed nursery – love how the apples are tumbling out of her arms.

this one says to me that the woman has so much goodness in her life that she can’t hold it all in her arms… it is a wonderful, uplifting piece, so nice to see today. enjoy the movie! xo

oh lovely, it makes me want to create something similar for my apple wine bottle logo, may I?

Enjoy your weekend, and, yes, HP is on the list of possible activities in our house, too. Not tonight though.

:-)

You know, I have the same thought whenever I see any of your art, it’s soft and delicate looking.

love the illo – Inktense are so fun to use…well done

I just love this image. it reminds me of an overflowing cornicopia.

So pretty, I might have to check out those pencils. I thought you painted this.

I can’t wait to see Harry Potter, and I love this Apple Tree image.

Beautiful – a feeling of abundance and nurturing about this one.

I’m very envious you’re going to see Harry Potter. Hubbie and I are excited to go but are just letting the initial crowds die down (I don’t balance too well in crowds. lol)but don’t think we’ll beable to wait too long :-)

Oh, I love this! Who wouldn’t love a big bunch of apples? I’m excited to see Harry Potter too. It’s definitely on my “to do” list.

Leah, I’ve got those pencils too. Now, an excuse to use them. Abundance is definitely the word I thought of when I saw this image. Nice!

An owl nursery would be fantastic! Love the apples and the feel of windy-ness I get here…

oh I love this!!it just seems to be leaping out of the page. Wonderful work!

That little owl is so sweet and I love the idea of an owl themed nursery! Hope you enjoyed Harry Potter! My husband and I hope to go see it soon!

The apples in this piece are fantastic. I love the way they look more defined the smaller (and closer the woman) they are. Great movement and tension in the piece.

I love this one, Leah! The apples and the blue dress. It’s interesting to see the color change in your work at this time.
