Creative Every Day Check-In: July 18 – 24

July 18th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 7/18//11 - 7/24/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for July is Blue, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

There is a little blue in all of the pieces that I have posted this week, playing with watercolor and digital. Storytelling with pictures and words, lots of fun. :)

Coming to terms with the pain associated with life by harnessing the “mother within”.

I’ve been having wacky stressful art dreams this week. Eeek.

Thanks so much for Hosting this ~ enjoy the week and happy creating ~ ^_^

It’s going to be a record high weather week here so I plan on spending lots of time in my nice cool studio and trying to produce something “blue”! =)

I finally got to making my tote for my new prayer/poetry journal — out of a favourite old dress :) Looking forward to organizing the art room and working on some journal backgrounds for my first ever art swap!

Serendipity at it’s best. Both my floorcloths feature blue as a main color. I’d love to say it was with the theme in mind, but really it is because my shutters are blue, and the cloths are to go out on the front porch.

BLUE is definitely my focus for this month with my STUDY of BLUE solo exhibition up until July 27th and five paintings already sold. I also posted “Summer Crossing” this morning with is very blue and spaciously contained as well. Best of a BLUE, BLUE summer Leah and all!

I have finally participated! Yay me! Thanks for this Leah!!
Pics have been uploaded to the Fliks group.
Happy Creating everyone!

Yeah! I got another blog post up. New images inspired by zentangles!

I went a little crazy this past weekend trying to get a big job done. I painted hundreds of tiny pieces of wood. You can read more about it on my blog. This week I am going to do something else: ANYTHING else.

Blue Batiks was the theme for last week. Cool cool blue.

Thank you Leah!!

A poorly designed, commercial quilt pattern that I won, gave me the blues. So frustrating!
Read all about it … and by the way, it’s only the third pattern I’ve ever used. … hmmmm.
Hugs,
Tina in San Diego

PS: Thank you for Susan’s photos: those blue doors are stunning. Do we even *have* that paint color here? :)

I posted some baby blankets I made for a local charity.

I just finished my latest painting last night and it is now posted on my blog. It definitely includes blue!

My latest post isn’t themed in blue but I did buy a gorgeous shade of blue nail varnish today – maybe painting nails can count as part of my creative contribution :-)

I’m also inspired by Susan in her guestpost above and would like to try doing some ‘blue’ photography.

A happy & creative week to you all!
Kat Xx

Blue is my favorite color right now so I took this as a sign it was time for me to commit to being creative every day!
