Creative Every Day Check-In: July 25 – 31

July 25th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 7/25//11 - 7/31/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for July is Blue, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

I’m sharing a post with a few snapshots of green, not very blue, but I haven’t been to the ocean only in the garden this weekend. I hope you are well. take care.

More green than blue this week..but thought I’d share my thoughts and images about time spent up in the mountains:

Its been a busy few days hosting art challenges & writing an interview for this week’s newsletter. And I’ve been trying to get things made/finished for my etsy shop. But now the kids are off school for next 7 weeks all plans will be pretty much out the window. Lol. :-)

Wishing you all a happy & creative week!

i had a new poem lurking in my mind for several days last week, and finally it is written. I would really appreciate comments, suggestions/feedback. Thanks, ahead of time.

Maybe my post for this week’s check in will bring some creative inspiration. I am aware of blueness, but none of my check-ins have shown that… yet. :-)

Hi Leah ! I have been out of touch with you and with the other Creative Everyday peeps for quite awhile but something clicked today when I visited and saw the theme for the month of July. When I think of your art, I thnk of blue, that cool, soft, mystic color and your vibrant pops of red.
Blue came to visit in one of my recent journal pieces and inspired an “artful” post on the blog that I quite love.

I wanted to take the chance to also wish you well with your new role as Mommy to your gorgeous daughter. Congratulations, and I wish you many sweet and creative adventures as a family !
Cheers !

I LOVE blue Leah and friends. Today’s post has study of Mount Baker with blue sky and more. It was an outstanding weekend where I sold one of my large paintings and two (large and medium) canvas photography prints… all links are with the post if you are curious.

Blue, though sometimes attributed to sad is also about those uplifting sunny sky summer days. Enjoy! Best of the week to you! Terrill

The post for this week ties in with an illustration friday challenge. Watercolor with digital collage layers. Blue leaves in the background, three watercolors merged into one. Still learning. Back to work tomorrow the weekends are never long enough for all the things I would like to accomplish :)

I did a guest post for another blog. It was fun and I was thrilled to be asked. Terah

i didn’t set out to do a piece in blue but it did end up that way. thanks for the inspiration.

loving the variety of and depth of the creativity people are sharing. I hope people check out what I have done this week. :) cheers!

Anyone else mourning the death of Lucian Freud this week?

For this week’s check in, I am posting a blue bird that I made from mixed media. This is a record for me…three projects this month on the theme. Recooperating from shoulder surgery has given me lots of time to play around!

I played in the middle of the night. So here are my results.
