Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 21

November 21st, 2011

aedmlogored

Welcome to day 21 of Art Every Day Month! Each day of creating, you are forming a beautiful, healthy habit for yourself!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. (If you're receiving this post via email, you'll have to click through the blog to see the widget.) If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2011 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2011 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

The object isn't to make art, it's to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable. Robert Henri

The practice of art every day has led to so many shifts in my thinking with regard to “having enough time” for art. I started uploading a photo from my morning walk each of the remaining days of November. It just seems like the perfect addition to #aedm since my mornings have been so meaningful.

Happy Monday, everyone. Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates this week.

A little bit of pre-Thanksgiving nostalgia today.

Did a little painting for one of my fellow patients, who is terminally ill. Sweet lady, she said she’ll “keep it forever.” Happy as I was to go home, I will miss her, and my “Cat Lady.”

Good morning! i missed posting yesterday but i have both here on my blog. Can’t wait to see what everyone is up to today.

I continue to be so grateful for the excuse to create every day – and I’m finding my wings with new techniques. Have a wonderful week, all!

Putting the “zen” in zentangle and a hand drawn Christmas gift…

was able to spend a good amount of time in the studio this weekend. oh, how delightful it was. i have been doing art every day, but my painting time has been so rushed during the week. thank you leah for all the inspiration!

Happy Monday and hope everyone is busy doing what they love most!

Thanks Leah,

This week, I’m playing with paper. The picture of my AEDM project for the day is at the end of my regular post.

I’ve been MIA due to a computer crash, but I’m finally back and glad to be here.

xoxo

oops – I accidentally posted today on yesterday’s post first (and couldn’t figure out how to delete it!) OH well!

I wish I had time to go through everybody’s posts! what I have seen, I love! I thank each and every one of you for being awesome souls! ~ Cheryl

Although I am once again “catching up” in todays blog post, I am so happy to discover how I am actually creating at least one or two things every single day, whether I recognize it or not…and my acceptance of what constitutes a “creation” has expanded greatly since starting this adventure! I so enjoy the feeling that I don’t really have to sit down and MAKE ART for it to “count” as doing something creative…I “get” that (for me), making a delicious crock pot full of a new chili recipe is just as creative as painting a picture! I look forward to discovering and honoring the small, simple but equally as “important” things I am finding I create every single day! :)

new painting is up! I had the most enjoyable time working on it!

I got a lot of sketches done for the past few days. There are a lot of insane textures in them. (Scroll down past the Craft Forms invite to see the sketches in the post)

A quick card for today – thankful for this community. Peace.

I collaged a box of travel dreams and made coordinating envelopes to stuff my wishes in. I love collage — it is so meditative. You quoted one of my favorite artists today — I am a huge fan of Robert Henri!

This week, getting ready for thanksgiving visitors, alternating cleaning with watercoloring!

Slowing down…

21 days in and it’s the first time I leave a comment with my link. Oops! I am grateful for AEDM and for this community of art-makers…
