Creative Every Day Check-In: May 14 – 20

May 14th, 2012

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/14/12 - 5/20/12.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is One, which you can read more here.

Happy Creating!

Can anyone remind me of what the May challenge was? Just in case I get time and motivation…lol

okay, I just went back and found out that the May challenge was ONE. Now I remember….

Hi Leah and Everyone, I’ll be busy working on oil paintings, an encaustic painting and a linocut this week for a May 30th deadline. I’ll be posting updated images of work in progress later today or tomorrow. Have a creative week! :-)

Hi everyone,

I’m continuing to do process art every day at processartjournal.com and enjoying the process of tuning in every day as a way to cultivate presence as well as to play with yummy colors every day. Please visit my blog and consider submitting a piece of process art for me to post on the Community page. Happy creating, everybody!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am starting to narrow my choices down when it comes to style, so I am continuing to share the results with everybody. Come on over and take a look at what I call “mixed media sketching”, and let me know what you think.

I’m a little late checking in today. This week…playing with my flower loom, painting and a wee bit of art journaling.

Wow I haven’t been here for ages! Kind of lost momentum a bit there. I completed a mixed media painting on paper of a tree last night which came out really well. Looking forward to seeing what everyone’s been up to lately.xx

The theme for may inspired me this photo and makes me thinks about simplicity… I am planning to write something more about this issue. Thanks!

Hi All,

Very happy for this wonderful change in weather, which has made everything lighter!

This week’s post is about remembering, re-learning and reclaiming the language we were born with, the language that connects us to our creative source, our dreams and to each other.

Have a wonderful week!

A little bit of spring to share. Have a wonderful creative week :)

Thanks for hosting CED! This is my first time here, but I expect this to be a lovely, long relationship! <3 Kate

I’m still trying to make the long journey back to being focused and regularly creative, trying to find a balance between creating, being a mom and working. Woof. It’s hard.

Hi everyone! I am having fun with this theme; I interpreted it as ONE color…so I am working with monochromatic pieces. So far, every piece this month has been completed with colored pencil, and all of the works are figurative. I also started working in a small blue sketchbook this weekend; I am hoping to fill it with more blue drawings, each one completed in 10-minute increments.
Good luck to everyone this week as we all continue to look for ways to stay inspired and motivated to do what we love…make ART!

-Jenny

I just signed up to join the challenge! Thanks!
