Art Every Day Month Check-In: November 17th

November 17th, 2009

aedmlogored

Today is the 17th day of Art Every Day Month. One of the fun things about AEDM is that after a certain number of days of art-making in a row, you start trying new things, things you've been putting off, things you wouldn't normally do. This is fabulous. Go ahead and follow any desire you have to play and experiment. No matter if it's not perfect. Just let go and see what comes up!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. (If that email link isn't working, you can email me at leah at bluetreeartgallery.com)

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

Twitter: Are you participating in AEDM and you're on Twitter too? I'm on there as @leah_art and I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. I also started a Twitter list for AEDM which can help you easily find Twitter folks who are participating. If you're not on the Twitter list yet and would like to be, send me a DM (Direct Message on Twitter.)

Update: I've just switched web hosts, so my spam filter is catching a lot of comments and storing them until I approve them. If you don't see your comment show up right away, it's probably because I have to approve it first. Thanks for your patience!

learning the skills involved with pattern design.

Not posting every day, but doing something.  Most days I'm working on or thinking about the next step for a mural I'm painting.  Posted some progress shots to my blog.

It works – the more I do, the more ideas I have.
Rather than blogging every day I was going to have a catch up with images of  what I'd done so  far. Then I found shape collage…..

Oopsy… posted yesterday's art every day to today by accident… :P

Again I am in awe of the creativity being shown here. I can not say enough Thank you for hosting it.

My creative "date" today will be putzing around in my gardens since the weather is so nice here this week. This is always an exercise that feeds the soul and stirs the imagination…

just time for a little doodling yesterday….. studio time tonight, tho- watch out!

i'm in the midst of a little series here this week…

Doing this with no pressure to produce something "beautiful" or "perfect" has been the biggest blessing for me.

I'm still workin' it every day…Not that I'm doing anything I consider free creation, but I'm in the sewing room every day.
Happy Creativity to everyone!
Debra

you are so right about finishing and trying new things.  i finished up a painting that has sat in my closet for over a year and i'm now inspired to try something that has been on my mind for years!

Dear Leah,
It is great fun to be involved and experiment with different crafts, and I think this "challenge" makes one more acquainted with further experiments one would have never thought of having a go at. It's wonderful to further explore ourselfs through the art of skill making.
Been away, so the only project that has been on my mind to continue is my friends birthday present – that crewel embroidery I had started. Finished the leafs on one side today and started the other leafs on the left side. The piece can be found on the linky I left as I uploaded it via the Flickr group. :)
Happy Creative Every Day Month everyone.

Today's post is about realizing your dreams and the obstacles that can get in the way. I have quoted from the introduction of a fabulous book I am now reading, The Alchemist. As artists, we know better than most about the obstacles in realizing our resonant dreams. I would love to hear what you have to say about your own dreams. The picture is a process painting I did of a heart a few months ago, and it's not today's art, but fits today's topic.

Today’s post is a final color version of a design I’ve been working on a LONG time; it’s time to let it go…..

[...] 18, 2009 by Silky Hart On this 17th day of the Art Every Day Month challenge, I had some good moments and, shall we say, some contrasting [...]

Finished the glaze in the bathroom. Still have the ceiling to do which I think will be clouds. I was disappointed that my attempt at using ink on one of my backgrounds just didn’t flow. It was certainly a reminder to just STOP when the creative flow isn’t happening. I fear I ruined this painting…time to get the gesso out. Oh well. Going on an Artist Date was exactly what I needed. Now, I’m chilling out with my hubby…DWTS, V, here I come.

Hello, Leah!

I wandered by and found your creative challenges very intriguing. What a wonderful goal, to create art every day, be it for a month, or a year! While I have precious little time to persue my art right now, I do so love looking into the art-lives of others!

I look forward to visiting as often as I can.

Happy Wednesday,
Jen

I can’t believe the energy this challenge is giving me. Today I posted pics on my blog of a winter wedding cake topper that I finished yesterday.

I am getting to my studio more and more. It is so exciting to commit this special time for myself. I’ve produced a lot more work than I usually do in a two week time period!

Full of energy. Rehearsals should really be in the morning because I feel like I could take over the world after them.

Yay production and creativity are up.
