Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 6

November 6th, 2010

aedmlogored

Happy day 6 of Art Every Day Month and Happy weekend to everyone! I hope you're day is a beautiful one.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

Wishing all my fellow AEDM participants a great weekend. I’m actually hoping my hands and brain cooperate so that I can start piecing together one of my art quilt designs. Stay inspired!

Happy weekend to all. I can’t believe I forgot to link here before now. I’m trying to make up for it now, although today isn’t very inspiring.

Its day light saving time in the U.S.! So it may be darker earlier but today into tomorrow we get an extra hour to play! Whoo Hoo!

Happy Weekend All

I don’t have anything to post today so I’m going to go around a visit other people’s great work to get some inspiration.

It occurred to me last night that instead of completing an entire work every day I could be working on a larger, more complicated piece and post my progress. DOH!

But that’s how my brain has been running lately. The obvious seems to escape me at times. Mid life stuff.

Happy Saturday everyone.

I tried to draw my flying bird picture again, and improved it with Piknik. Comments welcome and appreciated.

Today I played in my moleskin for the first time. It was both skeeeery and fun.

Yay–I’m not number 79 or 84 to respond today!! :) Tonight I am teaching a class so I wanted to show you the project we will be doing that I finished last night and a few ways you can multitask while creating.

Multi-Task Baby

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I’m going to get up early tomorrow, enjoy a cup of coffee and go around and visit as many links as I can to see what everyone else is doing!!

Have a nice AEDM day!

I am nervous today. My most significant audition ever AND poetry performance at La Femme art show. Scared, excited.

Wow. Day 6 already? When I get home from Colorado I’ll try to produce some art other than muffins and photos!

I uploaded today’s picture to the flickr group; just my writing is posted at the link.

My best AEDM day till now!!!! I’m so happy, I finally nailed down what I want and how I want to do it. The first week has been so chaotic and I felt out of myself. But now I feel I am totally here, in the AEDM, in the way that resonates best with me!

Thank you so much, Leah, for this challenge, it means a lot more than just being creative, it’s a challenge for the soul!!

Love to you all!

Today I posted on my blog the results of a writing exercise I did. Its only short but was fun to do. I’ve also posted the inspiration behind it so that anyone can have a go. If you don’t fancy writing then you could try and make a picture inspired by it or similar.

Hope day 6 proved inspirational for you!

i uncovered my old handmade stamps!

Days 5 and 6 really got me going and playing with textures. I never seem to have any time to just play and see what I get with some abstract digital paintings and this challenge is allowing me that this year. I don’t feel like I have to have final things done…which is nice. I am learning a lot about ways to achieve certain looks for the future and who knows I might get something finished by the end of the month.

Like Diane who commented before me, I played today.
I love the freedom of this month to experiment.
I most go correct my post, I have upset by daughter by misspelling Llama.

After a 2 day break, I’m back! :)
Another journal page with a photo overlayed in Photo Shop.

Late again! I guess that’s going to be my m.o. for AEDM.
Today I have some photos I took at a local (New Orleans) festival. Hope y’all enjoy them!
