Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 30

November 30th, 2011

aedmlogored

Welcome to day 30, the last day of Art Every Day Month! Please celebrate your successes (small and large) today! You did it!! And thanks once again for joining me on this creative adventure. It was my privilege to create alongside you this month. I hope that this month is just the beginning of many more creative adventures ahead!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. (If you're receiving this post via email, you'll have to click through the blog to see the widget.) If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2011 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2011 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

That was my first AEDM and I really enjoyed it – only four or five days of not creating, and two completed paintings, which must be a record for me in one month. Thanks Leah for hosting it and it’s been great to meet new people and be so inspired by everyone. I finished a painting yesterday which I’m really pleased with, which feels like a good way to end the month! :)

I have loved doing this challenge and the best part is ‘meeting’ so many lovely people.
Thanks Leah for making it possible!
xx

Thank you so much Leah – I’ve asked everyone to raise a glass to you on my post today! I did it!! Every day a little something. I am so happy. You are a true inspiration and you’ve built a wonderful community here. Thank you. xx

Congratulations to everyone on a job well done!! It’s been a pleasure to meet you and, even though it’s the last day of the challenge, I plan to keep in touch via your blogs. A special THANK YOU to Leah for hosting the AEDM & CED challenges….it’s been so much fun!

Love to all,
Serena xo

Well we did it! Thanks Leah for creating this challenge. it has been wonderful to connect with so many creative souls. My head is spinning with all the ideas and inspiration!

I have really enjoyed this past month, creating day for day and meeting so many nice people along the way. Thanks for organizing, Leah! Valerie

Thank you Leah for this challenge. I have surprised myself by making art every day. Usually I give up on things by the end of the first week!!! Thanks to all who have visited my blog and especially to those who left comments.

I can’t believe this is the last day. The month has flown right by. What fun to have been a part of it!

Thank you Leah! It has been such a wonderful month.

Leah: Awesome month of creativity for me! Wonderful new friends! Great visiting with old friends. You are the best, hosting this in the midst of your new mommahood with grace and (semmingly) ease. Thanks so much for all you do for the art community! Many hugs to you!

Thanks Leah! I’m had so much fun!

YAY for all of us!

My final AEDM project picture is at the end of my regular post. Thank you, Leah, for organizing AEDM. What this challenge offers is so much more than the work that is created during the month. I’m going to write my thoughts about AEDM and what it meant to me in tomorrow’s post.

Thank you so much, Leah, for organizing this challenge. It has been a wild ride, and a real inspiration for me as an artist! I have learned a lot about my strengths and weaknesses, and have made a commitment to myself to CREATE ART EVERY DAY! Thank you and I look forward to the next call to arms…

In the past six seasons I´ve gone from “art here and there month” to “art on a regular basis ever so often month ” to “art every day month” to “I sleep only 5 hours a day but stay up to joyfully create and I jump out of bed early to go link every day month”. :D
Thank you! {big happy hug}

Btw: last Saturday I had dinner in Buenos Aires – Argentina with a lady from Singapore that I met through a blog (Ily´s) that I met through a blog (Kirstin´s) that I met through your blog. :D

Thank you Leah, and thank you artists and creative souls. This is my second challenge – and I am thrilled to have created and posted something everyday. I have learned so much- most of all I feel like all of my creative muscles are warmed up, stretched out and limber – ready to keep running. What a great time I had.

Have really enjoyed taking part, thanks Leah, Looking forward to making my way round to all those I didn’t get to see. Blessings, Amanda

Thanks Leah, this has been an amazing month! Is it really the last day of November! xo

I wrote today about why AEDM has kept me awake at night, all month long. Thanks so much, Leah, for all you do to inspire us and connect us!

[...] course, I would have preferred to end Art Every Day Month with my very best project E.V.E.R.–but you know that couldn’t [...]

Yea–30 for 30! Wasn’t sure I could do it. Thanks again, Leah, for hosting this challenge. I totally enjoyed it (and learned a lot, too) :)

I’ve had a rough month, but I did want to get one post up there to show that I have been working away at it, albeit at the most basic level. So, better late than never!

this was Such a wonderful experience! i wish i could have kept up with seeing everyones art every single day! SO much amazing talent & creativity out there! thank you for sharing, everyone! i learned alot and will keep this my personal challenge “AED”! Bleesings to all! :)

Hi Leah!

I thought this TED talk was really appropriate today as we finish our month of art. Worth a listen – it’s only 5 minutes.
http://www.ted.com/talks/sunni_brown.html
Studies show that sketching and doodling improve our comprehension — and our creative thinking. So why do we still feel embarrassed when we’re caught doodling in a meeting? Sunni Brown says: Doodlers, unite! She makes the case for unlocking your brain via pad and pen.

Thanks Leah!
I really enjoyed this challenge and I look forward to making this a regular part of my life.

Thanks so much for hosting this, it’s been a real blast. Not only have I amazed myself by actually doing something every day, I’ve met some wonderful and inspiring people along the way.

You’re a star

x

P.S. Just added my name to CED – I must be mad :D

Leah, You are awesome for bringing us together each November for aedm, and for chaperoning our days of art all year!

I just wanted to say congratulations to all of you who participated in Leah’s challenge and thank you to Leah for always pushing us to be as crreative as we are able!

Leah,

Thank you so much! This Blog challenge was amazing for me… While I create most days… I have become a complacent blogger, inconsistent… Your challenge really helped me be consistent! Thanks so much! You are amazing!

Kris

Just popped back again to say that I have just signed up for CED; thought I had already done so.
See you soon!
Gwen xx

Thanks for another awesome AEDM Leah!! I’ve met many great artists and had a blast.
Stay inspired!

Leah, I love your current painting. Did you manage one a day in November, even with your new arrival? :) I have learned to love birding, so my current post is a question about a new raptor for me, probably a male Cooper’s Hawk, but am still not sure. Birds excite me and will be the catalysts for a new series of art quilts, I hope.

Hugs to all and am so thrilled to be a part of this community. With Thanksgiving,
Tina in San Diego

Thank you so much for creating aedm – I’ve really enjoyed participating in my own way, and seeing what others are up to. Although I did not make it everyday, this year really helps me focus on how I am using my time. Happy December!

Last day, huh? THis was a lot of fun! Thanks!!!

Thanks again, Leah, for hosting such a wonderful Art Every Day Month! I got so much work done on my sketchbook this month and I’m so happy I did such a better job this year than last. Can’t wait for next year!

Yay! We made it! I didn’t think I’d still be around. Thanks Leah, this month I was more involved in AEDM than in previous years and I got a lot out of it.

managed to get the last one in, and why it has been a tough month explained. I loved doing this and hope to participate again!!

A little more hospital art — and some creative use of a vegetable peeler :) Thanks for hosting this month again, Leah! I didn’t manage to participate every day, but I have enjoyed trying — AND checking out so many other fabulous work by the people here!

Thanks for a wonderful month, Leah! It’s always so inspiring to see what you and everyone else does during just one little month. Truly amazing!

It’s been real folks!

What an amazing experience AEDM has been!

WOW this has been GREAT! i feel like I have accomplished so much and I thank you! I am so happy to have met so many terrific people. What an experience!!

[...] Art Every Day Month, I bid you adieu. Twas a delight to be in your company. As always, I am so thankful that Leah has developed this challenge and continues each year. I have grown so much by the process. comment? Posted in Art, Art Every Day, Encaustic [...]

Hurrah! I remain inspired and motivated! This has been an amazing month. Thank you, thank you, Leah!

Thanks so much for the fun month!

I only wish I had been able to participate in a fuller manner than I did….

Maybe next year!

But I enjoyed it very much anyway…thanks, Leah!

I created two Christmas cards today, but didn’t get them posted. Actually, they are not quite finished. I created every day this month, although I missed 3-4 days getting them posted. It’s been fun, and I’ve been so inspired by everybody. I’m proud of myself for what I did this month, and I hope you are all proud of yourselves too. We did it! :) Thank you Leah for hosting another AEDM!

Our last AEDM day, congratulations to all! I created a lovely ritual surrounding my art-making sessions this month and plan to continue making art on a regular basis. On Day 30 I built on Day 29’s results (see the Mr Linky link). I’m not yet happy with it, but curious enough to see where it will bring me so I will continue with the piece – for now. : )
