Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 3

November 3rd, 2012

Welcome to day 3 of Art Every Day Month!

Someone pointed out to me that one of the links on the AEDM info page was leading to last year's sign-up page (thank you, Helen!) It's been fixed. Sorry about that! I'm going to do my best to move the links people put there to the correct place. I also noticed that some folks accidentally placed their daily links there. Please be sure to put your daily links to your blog posts or flickr images in a daily check-in post like this one. You can always find the check-in posts on my main blog page: www.CreativeEveryDay.com.

I usually post my art at the end of the day, but every morning there will be a check-in post like this one, where you can share your work whenever you're ready to do so.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, last year for day one I linked to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participant sign up page before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I'll be using the hashtag #aedm2012 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Instagram: You can use the same #aedm2012 hashtag if you're playing along on Instagram.

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

I am really enjoying seeing what you create each day. This is a fun way to inspire me, too. Even though I post nearly every day (and sometimes more in previous years), this is the first time I’ve really followed this challenge. I’m glad I did.

i love to participate to this challenge it is very powerfull

Today I drew using guidelines for the first time, it helps!

I posted what I did then didn’t like it so went back into it and then re-scanned it; hence the two links, to the before and the after.

I just signed up to do Creative Every Day. This will probably be writing for this month as I’m doing NaNoWriMo, but now that I’ve found you, I didn’t want to not sign up and forget! So on December 1st, I’ll begin CED. Yay! What a cool idea.

I love your Mother and daughter piece. Absolutely beautiful!

Ack! I forgot it was AEDM already! So today I’ve posted the link to my front page where the entries for the past three days reside. I’m taking a slightly different approach this year – taking Leah’s broader view of creativity.

I am visiting a lot of sites and really enjoying the work. Tried to comment on many of them but the comments are rejected on many when the “mystery” word isn’t accepted (no I am not a robot) lol!

I am working on a short graphic story. I hope I can finish it. I hardly finish anything. :)

Day three, yay! And as Maron was talking about the mystery word a couple comments above me, lots of times I have to enter it many times. I have crazy eyeballs and its hard for me to decipher, sometimes I have to give up and move on to someone else’s blog.

More work on the black and white painting but no extra photos today. Thinking it might be finished now but I’ll see how I feel about it tomorrow.

I love your pencil sketch of mother and daughter, it made me smile.

thank you for all you do here.

Love your mother daughter piece yesterday :)

AEDM is keeping me sane while I wait for our power restoration! Thanks Leah!

I actually finished a small painting today :)

This is a good challenge for getting things done. Participating in this challenge is helping me get more productive, get things finished, a very welcome thing indeed!

OK here is my AEDM 3…better late than never :) ) [forgot to link up :) ]
