Art Every Day Check-In: Day 5

November 5th, 2010

aedmlogored

Today is the 5th day of Art Every Day Month! I've seen a lot of folks worrying over what they didn't accomplish one day or if what they did accomplish was enough. Please don't let what you've done or haven't done get you down. This is all a process, not another reason to beat yourself up. And remember, each day is a new beginning, so let go of yesterday and create in the space you have today!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

Have a nice friday!

Thanks Geni! I hadn’t even realized it was Friday. lol This week has flown by.

I’ve been lucky to have my friends providing inspiration.

Happy AEDM!

Stay inspired!

This is the second piece of artwork for Friday. I finished “All You Need is Love” yesterday but only got round to posting the image today. I’m running a workshop tomorrow, New Moon Mandala Art playshop, so no painting for me tomorrow, my day off. But as I’ve been getting my home ready for the workshop, I also felt drawn to create some artwork representing my new found creative energy. It’s called Artist on Fire, and is a collage, something I never intended to create but art has a life of its own, doesn’t it? Have fun, everyone, and have a great weekend. Mo xx

I had so much fun doing my third day :-)

TGIF and Happy AEDM !

Day 5. Woohoo! Day 6 written and in queue since I have a show in the a.m. So far so good! And yes, it is stretching me – and it’s the first thing I think of when I wake up. Love this!

Can’t shut off creativity, so I posted another ;) .
Stay inspired!

As usual, I made a piece last night to post today. But I didn’t like it, so I made one about an hour ago and posted it instead. Just so you know, it’s about 8:00 AM here in the midwest, despite what the time posting says. :-)

Hi everyone! Happy Friday. Thanks for your support. Leah, I like your girl and the balloons. Such whimsy and fun.

One of these days I will have one blog. My art will be in one place. And I won’t feel so schizoid. Staying focused and not so worried about the outcome, allowing myself to be a little playful and yet still posting something on one blog or the other has been a stretch I’ve really been enjoying. Im so glad I decided to participate this year.

Happy Almost Weekend. My sister and I are going to a regional SCBWI meeting tomorrow morning after a hot cuppa!!!! I hope everyone stays inspired over the weekend.

We’ve all got images in motion today… must be a Friday thing ;)

I’m REALLY finding the timing of this AEDM challenging. It is probably the MOST stressful month of my LIFE, which makes it hard to find time to do art every day — and yet BECAUSE it is the most stressful time of my life, I am finding it most NECESSARY to MAKE time to do art every day!

Thanks for the inspirational outlet, Leah!

My inspiration was easy today. I designed and crocheted a beaded bracelet for Spirit Wear day at school, where I work as an SLP. And then, on the way to school, I had some interesting thoughts that I needed to write down. If you like poetry, you can visit my other blog at http://mlissabeth.wordpress.com
I enjoy reading peoples’ comments on both blogs.

Going to try to make some awesome art over the weekend and my post today is pretty silly, but you get to know some interesting things about me.

i penned a doodly message to my first cup of coffee! happy friday, leah – thanks for a great first week of AEDM!

i drew a mandala and colorized it! lately i’ve been leaving them b&w so this was fun!

Happy Friday everyone! Can’t wait to go check out what everyone else has done.

Loving all the insiration. I am trying new things and making a list of more I want to try.

Thanks for reminding us about the process. I have to admit I’ve been worrying that I haven’t been “artistic” enough this week, but the truth is I have felt creatively satisfied. Does that make sense? Anyway, happy Friday!

I love how this challenge makes me constantly aware of being creative. It’s like a constant buzz in my head. This is my second year, and I really don’t feel pressured to post every day, but I WANT to!
Thank you, Leah, for this gift.

I posted today’s page to the flickr group.

Today didn’t go to plan but I posted on my blog anyway. And there’s always tomorrow…

Kat :-)

I’m late today because I did my nanowrimo writing, the grocery shopping, the making of chicken soup, the feeding of kids, and the feeling yucky because I had a cold thing first, before I finished my drawing, photographed it, edited it, blogged about it and posted it here. Phew. Every day is a big day.

Whoa. I almost forgot to post today. This is a great challenge. It is really making me focus and finish

this is a happy piece reminds me of “singing in the rain which i did a lot as a child
:)

I have another painting in progress. Plus, a story about how my dog kept me up all night. See you all tomorrow.

I have two days of open studio Nov 13th and 14th so decided to live art everyday vicariously through the rest of you. Way to go! Keep up the great work!

Happy Friday everyone! Today my creativity rests in getting ready for the class I’m teaching tomorrow :) I’m having a blast finding cool texture making things to add to my student’s art kit. I’m going to challenge them to use everything I’ve collected in their pieces tomorrow-can’t wait to see what they do with it! Check out my poster I created, I took a painting I did, layered it at different levels of opacity, added some funky brushes and lettering all in photoshop, then finished the lettering in a word document. I’m just learning photoshop so it’s a challenge but fun.

My poster is on my facebook art page:

Jodi Ohl Art Page

Only a few days in and I’m already at the argh stage; so that’s most of my entry today, though for the actual art part I worked a bit on a quilt, which I decided wasn’t going in the right direction (contributing to the argh). Oh well! :)

[...] back to Art Every Day Month, today is day 5, and what a creative and artistic day it’s been. The morning started with our creativity [...]

Whew! I barely made it!

Today was my first day. Off to a slow start, but starting slow is better than not starting at all.

It has been a bit of a push for me so far this week, but I’m making tiny progress on art that needs doing, at least. Happy for that, hooray!

Thanks for the inspiration to get ‘er done (or at least going, lol).

A little cheat entry for yesterday! Hot’n spicy bread!

I’m late because my camera died!! I did work in my art journal yesterday – mostly adding small bits to a page here and there and getting backgrounds ready for later on! Thanks for this challenge – I’m finally doing more art like I had wanted to!

I’m a bit late, but here it is. Still a work in progress, but one I will finish in the next couple of days.

I forgot to add my post from yesterday
