The Owl and the Pussycat, Take Two

November 14th, 2010

Day 14 of Art Every Day Month. You may remember that I did an Owl and the Pussycat painting already this month (on the first day!), but I came across a different sketch I'd done for this painting and really wanted to bring it to life too. So I did! This one is also acrylic paint on 6"x6" panel.

I can't believe we'll be half-way through the month tomorrow. Time flies! I hope you're having fun with this. I am. :-)

Wow, what an amazing painting of the Owl and the Pussycat! It’s so cute, and I love serenity it brings through the night. :) I know, it’s going quite quickly and it’s reminding me to bring in more creativity through others forms, instead of just writing, which I have been doing mostly for the month of November with NaNoWriMo. It’s still all great, all very creative every day. :) Happy week to you.

Hi Leah, The ship almost looks like Viking ship! Fun expressions on Owl and Pussy Cat!

It’s so cute how they have such personality in their faces with so few lines.

So cute, totally love this!

I´d love to have an Owl & Pussycat series on my wall. :)

so fun…and indeed, having this site has been a lot of fun as well

Very cute! I think Owl and Pussycat need to be in a children’s book. Oh, yes!

they are adorable! i agree with miz katie!

Love this, Leah! Precious.

I came in a couple days late so I didn’t see your creation the first day, had to go check it out before I left a comment here though. This version is my favourite of the two. I’m a huge owl and the pussy cat fan because when I was a kid I had to memorize it for a class I was in and after I read a gazillion books I chose it as my prize for reading. I just love the story/poem. You did a great job capturing it in this painting. Love, love, love it.

I just love the colors and whimsy in this!

I love how the stars stand out against the pitch dark sky.

Another fabulous Owl and the Pussycat creation – Bravo! (They’re both so good!)

Eep! Just checked in for the 14th and the 15th is already up! Oh Leah, can barely keep up. Tomorrow I’m going to go back through the days I’ve not had time to see what everyone else is doing. And catch up on your posts also!

Leah, I had done a spread for The Owl and The Pussy Cat when I attended the Illustrator’s Workshop at Boyd’s Mills this summer and did many sketches before I decided on the one for my spread so I have enjoyed seeing your sketches of these same little characters! I have thought of working on some of the other sketches that I didn’t use so maybe you have inspired me to dust them off soon!

I am trying to learn to draw owls. I am amazed at how many variations of them I notice everywhere now. Yours is totally charming.

this is lovely. and yes I’m having fun. Thanks for coming up with the idea.

I love this one. I wish I had been on it this year to do this art every day month.
arrrgh. next time I suppose.
Great job!
