Happy day 6 of Art Every Day Month and Happy weekend to everyone! I hope you're day is a beautiful one.

Quiet Umbrella

Today for day 5 of Art Every Day Month, I felt the urge to work in collage. I had no idea where I was going, but this image came along as I worked. At first I thought I'd put more color into it, striped socks, colorful boots, and such. But after I painted in the figure, she seemed to want to stay this way. A little more somber. So for now, she'll stay as is, more quiet. This piece is about 4"x4" with collage and acrylic on panel. Hope you all have a beautifully creative weekend!

Today is the 5th day of Art Every Day Month! I've seen a lot of folks worrying over what they didn't accomplish one day or if what they did accomplish was enough. Please don't let what you've done or haven't done get you down. This is all a process, not another reason to beat yourself up. And remember, each day is a new beginning, so let go of yesterday and create in the space you have today!

3 Balloon Day

This piece was based on a doodle I found in my sketchbook from months ago. Old sketchbook doodles are a great source to return to when you're feeling short on ideas!
I think the colors of the clouds were inspired by the gloomy weather outside my window. It's been windy and stormy all day long. Just now the wind actually howled!
I think a cup of cocoa is in order, don't you?
As I finished up this little painting for day 4 of Art Every Day Month, a little rhyme popped into my head:
"Today, my friends, is a 3 balloon day. It would only take 3 to float me away."
She's approximately 6"x12" with acrylic and ink on canvas paper.

Pink Mermaid

After a busy start to the day, I created day 3's art in the late afternoon.This one was fun to do. I simply wet a piece of watercolor paper, then dripped pink, blue, and turquoise inks onto it to create shapes. I also added some water to create some drips. Then I propped it up while it dried, so it was in my view, and I occasionally looked at it as I worked on the computer. Eventually I saw part of the shape of a mermaid and I used more ink to bring it out. She's about 11"x14".

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Fall Landscape

Here's my art for day 2 of Art Every Day Month. I had already started the base collage (you can see what it looked like here.) I stared at the collage for a while this morning and began to see a landscape when I turned it on its side. So, I used acrylic to bring out the treescape I saw. Feels very fall to me! It's about 14"x10" on paper.

The Owl and the Pussycat

Day One of Art Every Day Month has begun and it's been so fun to see people checking in! My first creation for AEDM is a 6"x6" painting of "The Owl and the Pussycat." I remember reading this story as a child, but I didn't read it again before painting this, I just went for a simple image of my memory of it.
